Consoles are supposed to get the ability to be used with logic as far as I am aware, why wouldn't this button as well? I do like the idea of something that could be put on a wall instead of in a wall to control logic.
There would still be use for both auxiliary reactors and being able to turn chambers on and off at will. You could build an auxiliary reactor smaller than the main reactor and just big enough to specifically do what you need it to do. That way you don't have to invest a lot of resources into...
The last time I tried to use a shipyard it was bricked. I just loaded up an old back up of a server data base to pull a file for a friend and I couldn't do anything with the shipyard, no designs could be loaded or created.
I have to say it's about time we got a power update. It's been the same old system for so long, there have been tweaks to values but more or less it's been the same. While it's not perfect yet power 2.0 has way more potential than the old system. I am happy I never got around to building a...
What I am finding is small ships like this are great in power 2.0 but as soon as you go larger you run into integrity issues. Systems have to be fairly large to start gaining integrity so bigger ships are fine but there is an unfortunate zone where you loose the 200 base integrity but are not...
With a weapon update looming I thought it might be a good time to remove the tracking aspect from slaves and give it to it's own system. This would give us greater flexibility in our missile systems and could even allow for new tracking types to be added such as a missile that tracks to where...
I was one of the people against combat regen the last time our shields were updated as it created potential stalemates. It is something that needs to be addressed though as you don't want a pistol to be able to take out anything given enough time. This current shield system does seem to help...
That's a really good point. A lot of games that let you take perks also give you the ability to take negative attributions in order to get a few more points. I wonder what other negative attributes could be added to other chamber trees.
That was also one of the reasons I never bothered using large jump drives on most ships. I remember once I accidentally flew into a star and just as I was about to initiate the jump drive *BOOM* the charge resets to zero. It took a few attempts until the jump drive was able to charge and I got...
The Conduits don't rotate properly, there are some directions that are impossible to run them in so they only work when not all sides are exposed. I also would like to see a couple of full sized pipe/conduits/duct blocks. I used to use thrusters anytime I wanted a duct but with the changes to...
I did some test on shields today.
Docked entities do loose their own shields, only blocks covered by the bubble are protected.
Capacitors contained in multiple bubbles will only give capacity to a single recharger and will indicate it with an arrow. I was placing capacitators almost directly...
I am aware that you can make multiple bubbles, I stated that in the second paragraph. "A perfect sphere that originates from a single shield recharger group may force players to use multiple shield bubbles" My problem is that these spheres are a rigid construct in a free form game. Your ship...
With power 2.0 we see the removal of "fortress shields", it is doubtful that this mechanics will be removed so how can we improve the new limited range shield system we have?
First off I remember one of the stated goals of power 2.0 was to not limit creativity but the rigid shield system we...
One big problem I am seeing with the Power 2.0 comes from the implementation of reactor levels. This system is not very intuitive in game and more or less forces you to build your reactors in predetermined sizes to avoid penalties/ get bonuses.
All levels have a set number of chambers that...
You actually can have a good jump drive and other effects. The trade off is you cannot have all chamber branches active at once but you can do more as long as your willing to build the chamber trees. There is nothing stopping you from having a smaller reactor dedicated to jumping around or a...
For me the majority of my systems can be expected to be sandwiched between interior/interior or interior and exterior.
Something like this may work:
Touching Faces: -8
Touching Faces: -4
Touching Faces: -2
Touching Faces: +0
Touching Faces: +1
Touching Faces: +2
The other idea I had was...
One key component I find missing from the power 2.0 update is the inclusion of logic interaction. We can manually switch reactors and chamber branches but this would allow for so much more freedom if it could be done via logic giving us a little more freedom in a very restrictive system. You...
