Logged out protect is a neat idea. Perhaps give it only 10 minutes, which should make it harder for any faction to assemble and destroy a station within that time limit, provided that they haven't already started.
I like the idea of arming warheads (And different warhead states regardless) and...
Yes, though it is a pain to see all those reload timers.
However, multiple CPUs means multiple effects or secondaries (Ion missile followed by nuke, anyone?)
I know, but I prefer to be self-reliant.
Which is why the 3-person faction rules bother me to no end. I only have 1 brother who plays SM. (And only 2 computer's that will run it well)
Gotta build myself a self-defense turret that can actually take out pirates, then I'll probably end up on a server.
Also, I gotta make a purpose-built starting vessel....none of mine are very good yet. Ah well, work to be done.
But then a faction who's taking out enemy stations has to attack, wait twenty-four hours before coming back online and proceeding to attack the station....which could easily have been disassembled and shipped out by an enterprising faction member with a stealth ship and a lot of time on his/her...
A short note based on the ships I've built: If you want missiles, never put multiple outputs on one computer. NEVER! Even with lock-ons. Especially because lock-on missiles will retain the lock if you switch from locking weapon to locking weapon.
What that means is if you have two missile-beam...
Should I be worried about joining this server? On one hand we have some form of dark side "planet popping" bricknaughts or something, and then there's the logic-driven torpedo massacre man off somewhere on the light side.
How on earth do you even use a hepta rail axis? What? Neither a hepta nor a tetra has enough space on the sides that make them heptas/tetras for another block to sit in and rotate.
But the exploitability..... It's a very neat idea, but if the faction can just say "Everybody off, they're attacking again".....makes warfare somewhat lame.
That said, it's a good enough system, and the community ought to discourage combat-logging like that.
I've not yet had a chance to play...
I'm fine with protecting yourself from power drain effects, but we all know that what we really want is a Star Wars-like ion cannon capable of temporarily shorting out everything on our enemies' ships and stations! Just one, that's all I need!
Also, it needs to be less than the size of the...
Dr. Whammy, the second option is more like a focused HEAT round than a sabot round. US military sabot rounds are generally depleted uranium, have 0% explosive content, and are an armored vehicle's worst nightmare---punching straight through armor and spraying sparks and spall and shrapnel...
Well....people who don't like burning planets to a crisp might, just might, object to it a little. However, anybody who doesn't care about the magnetic field, ozone layer, or atmosphere in general about a planet will be just fine with the random firing of gamma ray bursts for the purposes of...
Zektor, the idea is that players build these permanent structures (Permanent as in permanent resource generation, not indestructible and non-player-made) for resource gathering, giving planets value...especially if it is expensive to build/rebuild the structures. Fewer planets will be destroyed...
M-M is great....so long as you've got no friendlies. Otherwise, you start killing friendlies. That's bad. Usually. Unless your friend is someone annoying.
If M-M won't work, well, cannons are always a good fallback.
Working on vessels to use...but I've gotta test them first. Mostly because they're TIE fighters, and due to a lack of internal space I've now got to up-armor them (Because no shields, dangit. I needed some actual thrust on those things).
