I actually wonder if that would be a good idea in starmade? Have swarms of small armor cubes orbit a larger ship? They would totally mess up player lockons and would give an decent shield against missiles. Beams and cannons would be mostly stopped if the ships rotated fast enough.
Alas, I know...
It really is except for on test servers. I never heard a story about them except for testings, no real combat, but even so they had devistating effects.
Challenge:
Some torp guy should go and make a video of them using torps to take down a ship(or crimple it) in a real fight.
Torps must be the...
I was thinking you would need to refine it into concrete first. Plop it into a capsule refinery, 1 rock=1 concrete it should have 1,000 health, and adds 750 armor hitpoints. However, it will weigh ~5-7 mass and have 0% armor protection. If I remember correctly, ahp goes into a pool for the ship...
It already works, you just need dumbfire* torps, and set the configs to ~100,000 damage and 32 radius, and really complex rail systems each torp costs ~11500 or so, between the push system and the warhead, combined with the standard core, docker, and power.
*tracking missiles are possible, but...
Yea, at least we don't have to many massive gliches(cough)space engineers(cough). I wonder when we will get out of alpha? I would perfer to stay for a while(if not for gameplay features) so we get more of the roadmap done, hopefully all of it. And in alpha you can suggest actual things like...
Ok, my opinion on hacking is that it should only be either:
1.
A cloakinglike thing where you select a ship and a system, then fire it to use it to take away from that system(weaker jump drive, slower engines, main cannon/cannon system does less damage). Uses up a lot of power while active...
I wish we could restart the thread(without having two threads), or making a "Capital Ships and Motherships II", and discontinuing discution on this thread.
Blaza612 could make a new starter to include all the new ideas in this thread without 4 pages of unrestrained brainstorming, not the most...
To all door blocks in general. Not as important as other things will be like balancing fleets, but something to work on in that glorious heaven for developers called "free time".
Keep in mind that battles on this scale will always be done both in and out of player observation. The idea was to allow full scale battles when no one is on the server(because no one is blowing up planets or crashing around titains), but having a "from the depths" like fleet system* allows...
One partial solution is:
It would attempt to keep the lag down, probably doing an okay job, and would do the actual real battles.
Shameless self-quoting - it's not self advertising.
Thats exactly what I had in mind! Thanks for clarifyling. You could do the multi-door thing by connecting the second door to the bottom of the first door.
How about making every fully connected door segment slowly opens from the top down(determined by the most commen orientation of the blocks in the grouping, if no most commen then up down based on the ship/station/planetplate orientation) by making the blocks have shorter and shorter slabs. Each...
HA HA HA HA!
No.
I'm just gonna say that unless the capital ship is very speciallized, and very baddly done(Theyed need to have no shields, and no turrets) any fighter-sized ship(100-5,000 mass(getting most of thr player's ranges in that)) facing any Titain(especially if it gets the...
Meh... I think it would be easier to make cargo blocks that act like rails, all rail blocks called "pathways" that had all the same blocks as rails, except for turrets and dockers. Regular rail dockers would dock to pathways.
Definately, get the update out and clean it up later. Make sure you...
