Just to be clear:
Schine says: StarMade is a voxel-based 3D sandbox space shooter
Wikipedia says: Sandbox game - A game wherein the player has been freed from the traditional structure and direction typically found in video games, and is instead given the ability to choose what, when, and how...
After a moment on google ....
The value of material goods fluctuates with supply and demand. It is not worth the same to different people, or even to the same people on different days.
A dollar is always worth a dollar. What you can get for that dollar varies.
As for the chinese guy, that's...
Maybe an activator block on the side of the shipyard triggers it.
How about collision activated? Just run into it. Unless your ship is to small...might miss it.
Or you could use the trigger blocks, make a plane of them you have to fly through to trigger it. I bet we can come up with a million...
Steam has nothing to do with Starmade. It's just a vendor in this case, like going to wal-mart.
However, sending usage data to Schine could work, voluntarily. There is already the player protection uplink, statistics could be pulled from that.
The only change I would make is that the Shield Beam be destructive. Any block that gets between the shield and the emitter starts taking massive amount of damage. That kind of power concentration has to be dangerous. Then it wouldn't matter if you try to bury it, it'll just bore it's own hole...
As an option, I approve. And I'll use it too. Sometimes I just need advanced for one or two block, but sometimes I need it for and entire panel of my ship.
Seriously? It hard enough to keep a thread on topic. Give it 3 topics and we'll end up discussing purple unicorns besieging Castle...
You forgot a few steps. Let me fix that...
2.5 Looks like crap, start over.
4.5 Realize you subconsciously copied Crusader's design, beat yourself up, start over.
7.5 Looks like crap, start over.
9.5 Obsess over the configuration of two block out of a 20k pattern, start over
9.8 Scrap it all...
My support for this depends on numbers from Schine. Which uses more computer resources? The holograms, or the extra sector?
I would tend to think the empty sector would be cheaper, so I will tentatively agree. But I have to ask, why wasn't it done this way in the first place?
As I recall, something like this was confirmed as the intended function. Lookin for the link...
Edit:

First,
Second, how do you get 4 million blocks in 5 minutes of joining a server without admin commands? That's quite impressive and I can only guess Shine will fix that bug and/or balance issue. I mean seriously, what would be the point of playing?
