      not really, just check the weapons load/reload times in either the ship struct or weapon menu first before linking it. You can fire as many high signals at them as you like, even while reloading so normally clocks don't really matter unless you want to be conservative with clock signals.

      meh its a engineering problem, you've just created something too big to support its own weight. aka ballstarded amount of docked entities. Sure its a sandbox, but you aren't going to be building the empire state building to scale in a 3x3 box.

      Grouping iterates over blocks, so with large groups it will take time to link them and you will see it iterate over them once you've filled the queue.       TL: DR; Heys has docked a good 450+ entities together. Each entity consisting of minimum 4 chunks.       Build mode already pops up a warning overlay, a little extra info can warn people of that. Much more prominent damage flash/warning could also help. If you are caught with your pants down in build mode its pretty like you would have been caught with your pants down anyway.

      Hell go whole hog and drop everything but the current entity and its docking chain out of the render queue. Basically same as making anything but the ship you are working on invisible.
