Woot! I think it's a lot better now, but I will probably have to reshape it's the little head...

    This is tonight progress...

May not seem much, but reshaping the "head"was quite a challenge. Also, I found out that some of the symmetrical parts where offset on one side and I'm having to correct that; this can be hard while working on weird angles, like on it's "chest" cavities.

    Here are the screenshots:

    Hey.
    Here's the new progress update:
Finished some more exterior armor and added a "golem like"siege mode to open the torpedo bays; I decided to arm it with four forward facing (dumb/siege) torpedoes and six vertically launched cruise (homming/anti-ship) missiles, plus some machine gun emplacements.

    Yo!
Done a lot of wedging today. Had to change some angles to match the block combinations we have available in StarMade, but I think we are still keeping-up with the original ship. Some crazy angles where challenging. Almost finished with the main body, but there's also a lot of armor plate cuttings to do, plus the wings. I'm happy with the results, anyway.

    Here are the screenshots:

    Hello all!

The beauty of Starmade is that you can do whatever you want... As you probably know by the posts above, I'm building a replica of the Caldari Raven. So far I've kept it as close to the original as I can, making minor angles and color adjustments to fit starmade limitations... But for a moment I forgot the power I have at hand: If I choose to do so, I could make the ship more symmetrical, change its paint or even entirely remove something wonky...

I want feedback on a idea that I had... What if I mirror the big "wing", replacing the smaller, asymmetrical one? It would surely give it a more imposing look. What do you think?

Something I would definitely change is the cruiser missile hardpoint location. I wil move the missile silos to the central dorsal plating, near the place where the wing meet with the main body. Also, as you may have seen in a post above, I will install forward facing torpedos in a golem - siege like way - plus cruise missiles and also some heavy caliber rotating miniguns, hidden under his wings. The Cruise missiles would be vertically launched, by the way.

Also, as I mentioned on my Status, which paint scheme would you like? I was thinking about the ghostbird:

Ok... I went ahead and this was the result....

    The "Horus" class Heavy Battleship.

I thought it was a fitting name for the "God of the Sky and Heavens"... I must say I'm quite happy with the result. From some angles it remind me of one of the coolest ship I have ever seen: The "Shadow Vessel" (AKA: Crab thing) from Babylon 5.

Here are the (new) ship dimensions and some more shots from the ship:

Just a quick note: The screenshots are rather blurry... This is to lessen the load on my computer, since I'm using my 10yo PC at the office: i5-650 / 16GM RAM / GeForce 710 2GB running Linux Mint. Must say I'm impressed. schema is a really talented guy; The game engine is running really smoothy even on funky hardware, although I'm not sure how this ship would perform, fully rigged, on a multiplayer server.

Isn't it just a Golem with tilted wings now though?

Hum... not sure. To tell you the truth, I actually never owned a Golem in game; old or newer. Until recently I even thought it was just a reskin of the Raven. Thanks to your link (EVE_NT Ship Editor) I was able to take a closer look and found out how that the "Siege Mode" really looks like.

Since I'm not bound to any specific rules I will let my Imagination run free and see where it takes me. In any case, I aways have my builds "versioned", so I could go back to the original later If I want to.

    Hey, folks!

Since I was a bit unsure about how all this ship customization would end, I decided to try some simple image editing "magic".

This is how it turned out. To check out what Thadius Faran said "Isn't it just a Golem with tilted wings now though?" I'm uploading one image I found of it as well...

I think my customization looks better than the original Golem, even if its not an "official" ship. I think I will keep working on this "fork", since it looks better IMO.

    Hey!
Quick Update: Here are some Low Resolution - Under Construction - Caldari "Engine Porn"... Hope you like it :)

PS: It's all a bit bland and grayish. Do not worry. After I get the overall shape done I will start denting the armor plates and apply the detailing layer. It will be Epic!

Sadly, not much available time today.

Just finished the swirl animation of the main Thruster.... It has an on-off animation and also the swirling. This time instead of building an logic clock I used a rail track to create the animation. Pretty neat IMO. Too bad I do not have time to make a nice GIF or short capture of it...

    Hello!

Here are some shots of the thrusters:

This is the rail clock that power the engine light effects...

    Howdy.

I've been working on the Raven "antennas"... Here are some LOW RES shots from my Linux PC:

I also started to do some minor armor decorations. Just testing some ideas... What do you think?

    Hey.

I decided to change the torpedoes to the "thunderbolt" variant. As I stated before, these will be massive and non-guided. It will be a siege -like weapon.

The anti-ship weapon will be a group of six cruise missile launchers. I was testing some models, trying to pick one... I think I will also build some more square models too. They will be more detailed later, after I choose the "base" model.

I Built them with the citadel launcher in mind. I know they are not made for Battleships, but they look cool and as you can see, I oversized the missile a bit...

    So...

In the end I decided to go with the middle one. The Left one looked like a reduced version of the torpedo and the right one was too small. I made it in a way that the silo door opens then he is lifted up into launch position and the claws that hold it in place are activated. Here are some pictures:

Not sure if I will leave them as Widowmaker (Red color / Heat damage ) or change them to the classic Scourge (Brown color / Kinetic damage). If anyone new to EVE, we also have the Havoc (Green color / Explosive damage) and Thunderbolt (Blue color / Electromagnetic (A.K.A. EMP) Damage).

PS: The button at the lower corner is just for testing purposes...

Let me know what you think.
    ~Cheers.
