Something that rhymes with "Harris Class Frigate"

    Hmm. That's a bonus for an attacker. Take out a primary system and a weapon with one hit.

    I got a little bored and decided I wanted to make a really tiny model of the ship. I'll probably end up putting it inside the actual ship somewhere because I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Also if anyone asks for it early this is what they'll get instead lol. (on top of the bridge for size comparison. Can actually fly it around and it's pretty fun to do too!)

    I am definitely willing to share this little fella if anyone wants.

    You could use it similarly to how Crimson Artist did in his Shangra-La, which is also the Delta Derelict station. He used it as a holographic on the bridge. You could also use it as an indicator of damage by using light blocks.
    [doublepost=1470103331,1470103201][/doublepost]Maybe in engineering.
    [doublepost=1470103379][/doublepost]Sorry, by it I mean a miniature representation of the ship.

    Those are both cool ideas. Could easily make it out of crystal. As per damage indicators, I have a rough idea how they work but wouldn't that amount of logic cause some lag?

    I'm not sure if it would cause lag. I've noticed that exposed systems with animations cause lag, so maybe if the logic is hidden it should be fine.
    [doublepost=1470103754,1470103557][/doublepost]Yeah, I see what you mean. It could be a lot of OR circuits, but they would sealed in a room somewhere easily enough.

    Crimson used glass I think, and it looked really effective.
    [doublepost=1470103802][/doublepost]Doh, it was crystal.

    They have up to three shiva missiles that are launched from the base of the lower prong, where it meets the main hull.

    The lower prong is primarily used for targeting for the MAC and for long distance communications, and to provide some extra armour.
    You're just speculating. It's never really been confirmed where Shivas are launched from, as they've never been seen in game. Unless there's some obscure frame from some comic I'm not remembering.

    That's one awesome build you've got there.
    I love stargate and approve the colonel Shepard gif. :)

    The information which I found that from was on the page about the frigate - specifically the layout of the ship and where things were located.

    Remembrance-class Frigate

    "The heavily armoured bow of the frigate was split into two sections, the upper and lower prow; the upper housing the frigate's Magnetic Accelerator Cannon and the lower containing the nuclear missile launch tube. Both prows also featured numerous antennas for sensor and communication systems."
    Is an excerpt I took directly from that page.

    As for what weapon to use for the weapons I'd go with a Cannon/Beam/Ion for the MAC and then Missile/Missile/Explosive for the Archers. That would match canon most closely, as MACs were generally used to drop shields and if the target wasn't destroyed outright swarms of archers would finish them off. You could also go Cannon/Beam/Pierce if you just want a super high damage shot that breaks through a huge number of blocks.
    Although MACs were used to drop shields of Covenant ships, that was hardly their intended function. They were hull damage weapons first and foremost, and when Covenant invaded the UNSC just had to make do with them. As such I would forgo ion for either explosive or punch-through.

    Archers could be either missile/missile/explosive or multiple small outputs of missile/beam, if you want to avoid the potential for friendly fire. The latter option will end up rather power-intensive, though.

    That latter Missile option would also best help replicate that it was, in canon, a very limited ammunition weapon.

    (oh sure, it carried over 1000 of 'em, but when each salvo used 'em by the hundreds, ...)
    (yes, covenant PD was good)

    I think as far as missile systems are concerned, I was thinking missile-missile as archer systems. And then missile-beam for the harpoon tubes. Those would would be rather powerful to make them as they should be. And the swarm missiles as archers would serve several purposes: anti-ship/fighter roles, it would simulate an archer cluster being launched, and provide cover for the harpoons on the way in to deal large blows. Just my thoughts on what I was going to do so far but am also thinking about making them all guided instead of a mix of the two.

    Swarmer missiles are a pain with friendly fire. I never use them myself.

    I was so confused at first until I looked at the web address. That non-canon bullshit is 99% trash and 1% recycled horse-cock. I mean, you do you, but be aware of what you're pulling from, m80.

    I never said that that was their intended function, but thanks for the input. Who cares what they were designed to do? The way they were actually used was to alpha strike an enemy ship, and if the ship wasn't destroyed to swarm it with Archers.

    My point being that while MACs were the main shield-dropper of the UNSC, they weren't particularly effective for the task, which is why using Ion effect for them just feels wrong for me. Not to mention that firing a MAC at an unshielded ship really ought to leave as big a hole as possible.

    Well, it's not like there are a lot of different sources of information on the ships and that was the most detailed so I just went with it :/

    For me the important thing is, it inspired you to make this awesome version. :)
    Canon or no, I like it!

    Keep up the good work.

    Thanks! I'm a little sad that with the most recent update, the brightness of all the lights got changed so some lighting on the outside of the ship is pretty dampened out compared to what it used to be. Was just things like spot lights to shine on the UNSC logo on the engine nacelles and the lights that illuminate the Ship's name when I decide to put that on there.

    The Schine guys will iron out any bugs introduced by the new update. You could check the fabricator to see if somebody hasn't logged it already. If nobody has you could submit your issue and they will start working on what fix could be required.
