Sorry just catching up to see what I missed, scrolling through everything to look at the pictures, and I have to say I really like the look of the fighter!
Its just, the cockpit isn't a... fighter cockpit. (Which if this is a theme of the TG then that is perfectly fine, its just if other ships have higher visibility cockpits than the fighter it would be weird.)
    [...]
What I am trying to say is, I think the fighter would benefit from more glass above the pilot seat.
Why does a space fighter have to have a 20th century fighter aircraft glass cockpit? It is absolutely conceivable to have perfect situational awareness in a fully enclosed control space. Even today's drone pilots don't need a glass canopy, now extrapolate a bit and think virtual reality, or brain-computer interface, or something so exotic we haven't even thought about yet. This is a ScyFi game after all (and yes, I use the letter y to indicate the amount of "science").
I think there is enough 'proof' that enclosed cockpit fighters exist in SF media if you look around a bit.

I know, thats why I was talking about looks.
It "feels" better that way and people are most familiar with that.

If you're gonna go "muh realism" on us, please remember that
    1) Starmade is not realistic
    2) A truly realistic sci-fi would have AI controlled fighters, if any fighters were present at all, which is highly unlikely. Actually, there wouldn't be ANYTHING human controlled in combat.

I guess it depends on what it's mission is. Referring to the Fighter/Gunship. If it is designed to go on search and destroy missions for the TG then gunship seems appropriate. However if it is designed mainly for escort duty then Patrol craft might work better. Just my 2 cents.

Pretty much what he said. If you want to do realism, there'd be little to no detailing, and there'd be little to no amenities. Since AI don't have time for that.

Also, what the heck is 'sky fi'?

Yeah even though the Wraith Dart is aesthetically fighteresque it wouldn't have to be if they wanted it too Wraith Dart

Any chance of a mini-drone carrier from the TG? I've been messing around with some of the enemy detection logic and you can get automated drone carriers to work fairly well.
There will be a staging ship for the TG and another large ship that can field drones.

Quick question. Any chance of some sort of construction vessel for the various factions? Something that would be involved in the setting up of space stations?

I like the sound of gunship! The issue with fighters is I feel you need a number of them to take down similar targets. Probably not as true anymore. I feel like the scavs will make use of small fighters more than the TG will. I will explore those options.

On a side note here is this weeks reveal! Today I am showing off the TG salvager. This vessel is one of the more unique ships in the lineup. It features an asymmetrical more organic shape than the rest of their lineup which works well to show it's unusual purpose as a Trading Guild ship. The TG primarily focus on trading for resources, and as such they do not have well developed salvaging and mining technology.

The ship comes with a living quarters for one crew. Normally the Trading Guild does not spend enough time in space with such small craft but it is almost a necessity. The Salvage array utilizes an inefficient Pulse secondary system, and this extends operation time.

The ship comes with no armaments. It's primary defense is the Ion effect system installed to support its shields. A fairly decent scanning system and a slightly larger than average jump drive are also installed. Cargo for the salvage array can be accessed on the underside of the vessel.
I feel like it needs some glowies in the barrel, that's just me and my own personal choices with design.

Have you not played that CoD game with the robots? Or watched RWBY or something...

Completely AI militaries are a dreadful idea. :P

As Thadius pointed out I have missed last weeks posting. Today I have two things to share with you all.

First up is this drone here. The TG will often rely on drones instead of larger manned escorts. Drones are cheaper than pilots it seems. And hey, at least drones can be salvaged, unlike pilot corpses! This drone is possibly quite large, and much more aggressive looking for a TG ship. Of the factions we have planned, I am hoping to push one towards using drones extensively, so at most we will see two drone styles per non-drone oriented factions. At least for the time being.

Next we have the TG Bomber. I will admit the shape is awkward, and bulky, a reflection of the freighters perhaps. Bombers are somewhat uncommon among the TG fleets, as the TG do not often apply the use of heavy warfare. Most combat revolves involves their at-risk freighters, and they would rather jump out than risk loosing cargo in a fight. The interior is larger than the fighters. Opposite the USD is a turret axis for future AMS installation.

Next week we take a look at the new and improved alpha station. I can release the stats on the bomber in a while. For now I must nap before the Monday livestream. If you don't know already we stream a few times a week on the StarMade twitch channel:

Hello! Time for another update on our station and asset plans! We will be taking a look at Dalmont 's station pictured below.

This was at the time one of the most highly praised stations. It has since been fitted with new systems, blocks and interior decorations!

Below is the cargo bay. It features actual cargo and rail elevators now. It can hold one TG shuttle. The dock is actually a turret rotator. With this one can rotate and face the door they wish to exit from.

Saber did a lot of work on this station. What was once a simple bio-dome sort-of-thing is now a research and development sort-of-thing.

A research station obviously needs machines to controls it's environments!

Here we can see what would be considered research! Plants in tanks and stuff. Sounds very science-y.

Let's hope neither of us end up on the other side of this glass eh?

The workers onboard this station obviously need to eat right?

The station is the only dedicated research station design the Trading Guild have in their possession. These appear in the frontier, with their scientists busy investigating the newly discovered region and it's inhabitants.

Getting an interior that good looking on a curved structure is no small feat, that's pretty impressive.

I will definitely take inspiration from this when I finally get around to refitting some of my science ships.

It was definitely a challenge, but I'm really happy with the result. Thanks!

Science!!! It helps to think of what your crew might actually need, the station features carbon scrubbers, water filtration and purification, among many other mechanical devices.

That menu is possibly the best thing I have ever seen in Starmade to date.

    Hi there!

I really like those improvements you did on the TG. Looks like it has much atmosphere and life. Can't wait to explore their new Hub by myself :)

Also i thought it could fit when i share some pics of my Homebase, cause it is an "reactivated" Alpha Station i bought a couple of weeks ago and refit to my needs. I am relatively new to Starmade and the Forum, so i am sorry if this Thread isn't recommended for kind of such things. Just want you to have a look on it ^^

    So here some Screenshots:
