I've been working on automated carrier launch systems. Half of it is logic, which I haven't built. A basic system is feasible right now, though it would require a lot of human input.

A proof of concept prototype is functional, as pictured.

As previously stated the human input is huge, but that can be brought down with logic. I have designed a logic 'algorithm' that will should handle the process.

The era of carriers approaches, friends!

I just had an idea: what if you could use the 50% only shield to your advantage? Hit a block of hull with an ion weapon, and it's wasted.

What exactly do you mean by that?

Also, I'm totally putting rail operated ship-to-surface elevators on that planetary invasion craft I always wanted to build.

Added a travelator around the viewing deck of the station. Shame that wifi gravity doesn't work so you could auto enter the gravity of the spinning ring when you walk onto it, and area triggers don't seem to trigger when a moving object contains them and goes through you while stationary, so you have to manually select the gravity modules on the ring.

woa that is a huge circle!
i bet you had to measure a lot :3

So here's the deathbot I made last year just for fun, finally with a walking animation and aimable guns(sorta)!
I think you may lose your "#1 normal ass normal builder" title for this. Nothing normal here, good job!

:O Amazing! Now if the inner ring of such a contraption could be a warpgate...
    ill finish your sentence:
Now if the inner ring of such a contraption could be a warpgate..... getting into it would be a master piece of aiming and timing

Forget warpgate, how about building it around a planet?

I bet you could build a warp gate then put one of these inside the circle, that would make it a master piece of aiming and timing

i think you shouldn't do that,
with a lil guess i think the gravity freaks out having multiple as the ring gets pult inwards from all sides
But think of the possbilitys....then Keptik could dock his ship to the thing and fly off with the planet.

    wait what......
:O lol then drop it at your enemy's base :p
enemy: hue how did that get there???? :O

or drop it into a blackhole
[DOUBLEPOST=1431631506,1431631158][/DOUBLEPOST]ooooh i'm getting so happy from that suggestion!
1 ring would also make a great docking bay!

but if Keptik docks his ship and takes the planet with him, he should dock to a 360 rotor rail for a spining planet!!
or what about bringing the planet to your station and dock it there, as a resemblance of the core

The docked entities shouldn't inherits the planets gravity.
after what krougal said i dun even care! this is a must test.
i'll test it as early as i can in sandbox. may it be possible!!!!!!
let the power of world replacing be true!!
and probably some glitches come with it.
or maybe you will only drag 1 segment with you...... i hope not but something is better than nothing!

You can't move planets. When you dock to something you become it's slave, it moves you. There is no way to pilot and dock a planet or plate to a ship in order to become it's slave and be moved by the ship.
