Update 2.0: Fleet update - see update description for details

Disclaimer: This vessel originally ships with Cyrillic deocrative labelling. Nevertheless, instructions on buttons etc. are English. If you prefer to download a solely English labelled vessel, please proceed here: [VEB Robotron] Frigate "Sigmund Jaehn" - English Screens Edition

After - so far - 15 months of periodic building, playing, re-fitting and testing, the People's shipyard VEB Robotron is proud to release a new build of its flagship - the frigate "Sigmund Jaehn".

The flagship was crafted with both an affinity for a detailed interior and a competitive firepower. Strong turrets can eliminate minor threats by themselves, allowing the crew to focus in battle on the larger enemy vessels. Thanks to the extensive AMS (anti-missile-system), the frigate is hardly hit by incoming missiles. Six mining probes can be launched logic-driven from the main hangar and return into their docking positions by the new "carrier recall" fleet command.

Additionally, with the 2.0 release, a battle mode has been implemented on the spacecraft. On activation, all position lights will turn off, protective shutters will cover all windows (except the bridge), hatches close and bulkheads move into position in order to prepare the vessel for the occasion of a hull breach. In brief: Red Alert!

I hope, you enjoy flying this frigate as much as I do. :)

Furthermore, let me know, if you encounter any trouble, or came up with some modifications of the vessel.

Advice: You probably have to restart the clock-circuits in the small room next to the core, reassign the probes to the fleet and the uptake point. Eventually, you also have to reactivate all turret-AIs after spawning the ship.

Wonderful ship, would love to see at least English as well the current language on the displays. Otherwise its real nice not sure if it was something with my saved bp or the save itself but I cannot find the button to open the plex doors for all the guns on top. Great ship thanks!

    Thank you for the review!

You are not the first one to mention issues with the Cyrillic decorative labelling. I updated the description with a link to a new post where you can download an entirely English labelled version of the ship.

The doors on the top are covering the missile systems. At first I connected them to the "battle mode" switch, but removed this connection later on, because I became concerned about unneccessarily exposing these systems to incoming fire in case the shields go down.
You have missiles fireing up, down left, right but nothing to the front where most of the cameras are faced. Try having some for up and some for below. This ship also seems more like a bomber with the amount of missiles too.

    Thank you for your critique!

What do you exactly mean by "Try having some for up and some for below."? Cameras? Sure, add some if you need. A camera is quickly placed behind the armor. So far, I had no need for cameras facing up or down. Locking missiles on targets is easier with front-facing cameras.

Moreover, feel free to call the vessel a bomber if that is a better definition for you. Due to its size, I prefer the label missile frigate - which is solely my personal opinion. ;)
Loving the hell out of this. The only real point of criticism is the cyrillic labelling all over, and the slightly generic interior making finding your way a bit hard. I guess that takes getting used to, or I might just put up some signs for myself. ;)

performance wise, I´m loving the thing. Turrets are really effective, systems are all useful. A TON of weapons systems to cycle through - I might cut that down a bit and add automation in but thats just personal taste. Overall, great ship, neat looks, efficient design.

Awesome! Thank you for your feedback. I will think about the hallway design and how it could become more intuitive - even though a little bit of the labyrinthic corridor layout was on purpose.

Let me know, if you come up with a handy way to increase orientation inside the vessel. :)

Sorry for any confusion about the excessive use of russian labels. You can totally ignore their content, since the only fulfill a decorative purpose on a post-soviet vessel. ;)
In addition, they may seem like the poorly translated manual of a taiwanese TV to any russian-speaking person. Nearly all labels were produced by google translate.

All meaningful labels are kept bilingual or in english. (Except power/shield-stats but you may guess by color.) And of course, feel free to personalize the ship according to your preferences.
its a very good ship but got a challenge for you iv seen thousands of long ships and maybe 1 or 2 vertical ships sooo... challenge is make a vertical design insperation can be from THEE DEIMOS Destroyer... reason for this challenge beyond the fact that theres so many long ships but they turn Damn Slow... but up and down turn speed is ok i guess but would like to see what designs you can come up with as it is im trying my own type of vertical ship but going to be a while before completion but yeah if your up for the challenge then go ahead cant wait
Great ship. It has lots of turrets and missile pods, original and interesting design (interior and exterior), its also functional, well defended (over 100k shields recharge has very good defensive effect), it can do good damage. What I miss (sorry if i missed it) is fast cannon barrels (i use them mostly to lower the shields, and then missiles do destroy structure od target(s)). But after some testing I'm happy with this what this ship is. Whats more important it has scanners, jump drives (many!) and even jump inhibitor. Its also very fast given its size. Great PVP ship. Everything on big positive side. I will surely adopt it to my fleet.
Whats worth mentioning it uses new rail docking system - also a positive for me.

Thank you for your very positive feedback!

You did not miss the cannon barrels, there are none. ;)

Since I am quite lazy in aiming manually, I solely rely on missiles and torpedos. Thus, I would recommend you, to replace the missile tubes of the dumb-fire system in the ships nose with cannon barrels as well as the explosive modules with ion effect modules. This would provide you with a 500/500/500 main cannon for taking down shields.
