    Obsidian Arrowhead Fighter 1.0

Once again, the Neo Echota Drive Yards bring key blueprints for you to enjoy!
All ships are built to be workhorses in their niche. BP's to whip out in a pinch, or to modify for specific roles.

Originally built on the Official Test Server early in my game, I have found this blueprint useful at all stages of gameplay. So useful that I have changed nearly nothing from the original design.

Either early on as an easily-built fighter making you capable of extended hunter-killer looting sorties against pirate fighters, getting more loot than you can easily sell very quickly, or in late game it can serve the same function, but in addition it is by then an easily mass-produced and robust drone fighter screen for defense fleets, while compact enough to be suitable for use on some carriers.
The hull shape and cargo size is also useful early in a survival game, as mining arrays of considerable size can be easily mounted and powered, making them doubly useful in late game if retrofitted as mining drones for a larger craft.

As with it's larger brother the Obsidian Axehead, the missiles on this fighter are set up for rapid-fire 'pump volleys'. Multiple missile groups are slaved to one computer. There is only ever enough power to fire 2 or 3 of the 8 groups at a time, so when the power springs back, you may fire again rather than wait for a long cycle time. Crucial in fighter-to-fighter engagements.
There is just enough juice left over to keep the radar jamming up, unless your timing is bad. If it goes down, the power will immediately spring back letting you bring it back up before any incoming missiles can typically reach you. Skillfully piloted, it can actually simply dodge many of those missiles as well, until jamming returns.

As with most of my builds it only had limited room for interior, but I did my best while keeping it simple.

This is the core view in flight, but there is a camera in the nose under crystal armor along with the cockpit. If/when it gets destroyed, the core view is unobstructed, and usually free of that pesky armor.

    Basic specs are:
Mass 699.9 consisting of 5,736 blocks.
    L=27m, H=11m, W=29m, with 2 to 1 thrust/mass ratio and a max speed of 258.2.
    Power 761,093.8, with 147,762 e/sec charging.
    Shields 18,184, with 1204 s/sec charging.
    Armor HP 172,725
    Structure HP 311,180
    Cargo 6.4k unit capacity.
Scanning, 8 groups of lock-on missiles, 6-barrel rapid-fire cannons and all are closely grouped to facilitate precision close-quarters fire.

What all of this doesn't tell you, is that the thing is just fun to fly and fight in. It has been designed so that typically, while damage will reduce combat effectiveness, it increases your speed and mobility. This makes disengagement from the enemy and safe return to base nearly always assured, unless facing something that can one-shot it.

As you can see, this craft has undergone extensive combat testing and indeed, often daily use. (It makes a great insystem shuttle.) I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have. More to come.
