    The first release of the Burning Amber was a bigger success then I expected.
    After some additional testing however I did notice some inconsistencies with the current release.


    Some of the rail logic seemed to have broken down. At least for entities containing remote logic blocks. Most likely an issue with the current build of the game.


    I’ll also have to take a look at the fighter and shuttle crafts again. Some of the system and power settings have changed since I designed these.

    Some other small cosmetic issues like displays without text will be addressed as well.

    Additional testing reveled some issues with the first release of the ship.
    These issues have been addressed in this update.

    • Rebalancing of fighter weapons. The power load was too great for the missiles.

    • Complete redesign of the shuttle. It was lacking in basic systems.

    • Additional internal décor added or changed. For example the recreational area in the crew quarters.

    • Resolved a logic issue with the repair crane.

    • Resolved a logic issue with the ship rail transport not working.

    This is one of the more frequently asked updates. But it’s finally here.
    The rail update for the Elysium Trading Hub.

    Changes for this update include:

    • All plex elevators have been replaced with rail versions.
    • The ship elevator has been updated to rails.
    • Added 2 patrol craft to the ship elevator.
    • All docking ports updated to rails.
    • Removed the drones. They served no real purpose.
    • Rail animated billboard and playground.
    • Some small visual tweaks.
    • Removed obsolete blocks. Let me know if you do still find some.
    • Updated stations weapon system.

    Ship reviews give really valuable feedback on things to improve. I got a rather extensive list of fixes and new features added to the Burning Amber.

    • Added Trash compactor to the cargo access hall. (Blame Saber for that.)
    • Added teleport technology. Both inter ship and public.
    • Added additional logic access for maintenance.
    • Added additional logic controls so doors for cargo and the USD port can be operated locally.
    • Added additional info to the tram system.
    • Fixed the probe crane. Wireless logic got disconnected.
    • Fixed varies displays throughout the ship.
    • Fixed drone cargo lift. It disconnected when activated.
    • Removed some exposed system blocks that were not intended.
    • Made some addition changes that nobody is probably going to see but me :D
    Names of inter ship controls or systems will not show up on action bars 2-10. This is a bug in the game. Not the bleu print.

    I took a break from any ship updates for now until the next update hits. Really looking forward to the cargo addition.

    In the meantime I started a new project. It’s been a lot of fun working on the shell of the ship.
    I’m basically retracing steps as I did with the Burning Amber and working on a new version of a light carrier.

    Although I have thrown the old design of the Helix out of the window completely and started from scratch.
    This will be my logic and rail project for now. Nothing to obvious but just a lot of little things that I plan to add to the ship to make it interactive. Nothing is more fun that pushing buttons.

    This ship is designed to be ‘ugly’. It’s basically a flying brick. But in a good way I hope.

    I’m not sure where the quote is from but it describes whereI want to go with this:


    “Only a human could design a ship this ugly.”

    Every additional feature makes ships feel more alive. Cargo is one of those.
    Here is the short list of changes for this update of the Burning Amber.

    • Added cargo functionality. Both in main cargo hold and the hold below the drone bay.
    • Added updated cargo crates. Docked additional ones in the main cargo hold.
    • Updated WorkerBees to make use of magnetically docking cargo containers. Updated systems slightly as well.
    • Complete system overhaul of the turret systems. More appropriate to the ship size.
    • Some small cosmetic changes.
    • Fixed drone crane again.

    Progress

    Made some decent progress on my latest project. The ship is still unnamed for now.
    I don’t want to go with the Helix again because this design is such a different approach that the old design.

    If anyone has suggestions let me know.

    I’m pretty much done with the exterior. Just the lower armor plate in the front that needs something to break it up.
    Most likely some sort of combat salvage array.


    I also added a number of different interior area. Some are more complete then others.
    Fighter bays are just grey boxes at the moment.

    One thing I did complete is the Worker Bee drone bay.
    There is an armor hatch that opens up and hides 2 landing pads for Worker Bees. The ship holds more then 2 though.
    With the addition of 1 push space magic it checks if an elevator platform with a Bee is deployed or not and retracts it if needed.

    I would not recommend it for use on servers unless you modify it to use a lot less entities.

    WS Listening Outpost MK1

    Space is big. So large in fact it pretty easy to hide if you’re not broadcasting your location.
    Certain key systems however often draw more traffic. Strategic use of listening posts like this could gather a lot of useful intelligence this way.

    Of course many commander found these postings useful punishment detail for insubordinate soldiers.

    The listening outpost is set up in a quick and easy way.
    The set includes:

    - Detachable housing unit. Will provide power as well.
    - 2 storage crates to provide provisions for posted personal.
    - A small ground hauler. Limited cargo capacity.
    - Example layout of the listening post. Includes big antenna.

    The base is provided as a ship file to make moving it around more convenient

    After working on the Winter Shade I felt like building a small project.

    I’m thinking of expanding this line with some additional base sets.
    Perhaps even some sort of ship capable of rapidly deployment of the base modules and setting up the outpost.

    Time for an after care update for the WinterShade. There were some small isseus that have been fixed in this version.
    In addition I bundled a plexdoor version of the ship with this release as well. It has a reduced ship core count of only 92.
    A bit more friendly on the system recourses and makes it available for play on servers.
    However for the full experience I would still recommend the regular version.

    • Fixed a small number of logic problems in one of the fighter bays and some airlocks.
    • For some reason on of the Worker Bees and elevators disappeared. Fixed that.
    • Added additional logic to control the transporter force fields and the Bee elevators.
    • Some small cosmetic changes.
    • Bundled a plexdoor version of the ship in this release. Only 92 cores.

    This is mainly an updates for the turrets. There were some minor miscellaneous changes but they are not very impactful.

    • Rebalanced the smaller turrets. There were some system blocks used with no purpose. Too much overdrive for the system it had. Replaced with additional shields.
    • Replaced 2 smaller turrets with slightly bigger ones. They deal a bit more damage and look more impressive.

    ive create somethink similar, but when you sitn on that chair and go to the Core of the main ship. you will detach from that chair, because it is different entity than the core of main ship. It suck. because it is amasing feature. anyway very nice cockpit. i love it. :)
