Why don't move whole parts of a ship??

That makes no sense. Every piece of the ship, no matter how small, makes it part of the ship.

Retractable turrets is what I'm excited for. I love it when a ship looks relatively non-threatening, until 30 turrets slide out of the hull.

I just hope rail system will allow us to "set" the speed of our "train" (maybe number of thrusters like on any other ship) and that they are 2-way travel systems with ability to turn when u connect 2 rail blocks (will it be blocks?) that are 90º rotated compared to each other. Rest should be fine no matter what they do (hopefully).
I want to make elevators and lookout posts (among simple transportation devices).

Honestly though, big hanger doors, or landing gear are probably what I'd use rails for. Oh, and also fighter drone storage/recall.
