I have no predictions as to how exactly the rails will work but I'm sure I will find some inspiration once I get it all figured out. However they work they will be used for robots and transforming in some capacity.

Transforming Mobile Armors in StarMade sounds pretty god damn cool. I always did like the Gadelaza despite how little screen time it got in the movie. Can't wait to see how you get it to transform.

I'm thinking transforming ships. Each mode will probably not change much statistically, but its for the visuals anyway.

Maybe a *deploy engines*, where the engine pods slide up and out, then you jump to warp speed, at which point the engines retract.
Or a *deploy hardpoints*, which everyone likes.
Maybe even a harden mode that changes the orientation of the ship so the core is always on the far side of the ship from the enemy. That would be interesting.

Even more interesting would be a system that flips the ship around without changing the orientation of the core.

things i will do with rails:

Having spare turrets in a repair bay, so when one gets damaged, i can bring it in below decks, and switch it out with a spare.

modify the venerator star destroyer to be more canon(its still an awesome ship)

create "cargo trains", multiple cargo rooms on rails that can be easily taken from the mining ships to the main base, and switched out.

A giant, absurd interplanetary train system, that is indestructible thanks to being built from may main home base.
