I have listed as an \"assault corvette\". Fast Attack Craft isn\'t an unfair comparison. Unlike the Bolero, they are geared more towards direct assault on larger vessels, rather than convoy escort.

The engine design was mostly inspired by the famous Star Wars vessel \"The Romulan Warbird\".

I implied that the ship\'s name was \"The Romulan Warbird\", rather than referring to it properly as the D\'Deridix class.

My retorts are riddled with factual inaccuracies.

    \"D\'deridex\"

There be an \'e\' missing from your correction, and the second \'d\' shouldn\'t be capitalised.

    I have out-nerded you sir!

In any case, I did think it looked like a Warbird. It certainly looks awesome. Also of note, the Wingdrive shown there will be more efficient than a standard Fantail because the different layers are unconnected. Since engines work in a similar fashion to power generators, this means you get more thrust bonus for less mass.

Thrusters do gain dimensional bonuses, but they\'re nowhere near as potent as power generators.

    Sum Of Dimensions - 3 + Blocks^1.125

Really only noticeable on very very large ships.

BlizzardOfOz133 showed me that linking the thruster sheets on the fantails boosted total thrust by a significant amount depending on the ship. Larger ships gained over 25% additional thrust while smaller ships gained less. Experimentation with the Valkyrie shwoed that linking the sheets generated more thrust output than leaving them unlinked.

That\'s wierd. The Ceres had faster accelleration and lower power consumption wheen I broke up the engine blocks into sheets.

Then again, this is probably why:

64 thrusters laid out in a line will have a Sum Of Dimensions equal to 66 (because 64 long, 1 wide, 1 high), but 64 thrusters laid out in a 4*4*4 cube will have a Sum Of Dimensions equal to 12. For comparison, the \"Blocks^1.125\" term is approximately 107.6 in both cases.

By breaking it up into lots of sheets, I guess I increased each group\'s sum of dimensions.

I really do need to get around to uploading my newer ships. Between my fleetworking fugues and the cocaphonous howling of my mighty progeny, I have gone a bit funny.

For instance, I made a salvaging/minig ship. I call it the Humpback. It eats worlds.

One of the advantages to playing on a server is that I\'m getting far more immediate and direct feedback about my designs. This one\'s not done yet, but already is tougher and faster than is typical for my designs, despite the relatively light armament. It\'s not a warship, really, but more of an exploration cruiser suitable to dealing with large numers of the server\'s pirates. It includes four escape pods that launch from side-ways facing hatches, and a large rear-ward docking bay with a cargo tug. The insides still need a lot of work, though. The outside\'s MOSTly finished, but I\'m finding the aft section to be kind of boring. I\'ll probably fancy it up a bit.

    Fleetworking never ends.

    .... woah

I love it! The industrial look of the payload works great with the sleek arrow-like main body. Given the fact that the body spilts for the salvage cannons, I\'d call it a space catamaran.

I\'m on the edge of my seat waiting for these new ships. Quickly now, make them available so that I may comfortably sit back and enjoy them. Heheh.

    They look great so far!

I just had a crazy thought: How would a hybrid ship made by combining Adimo and Vecordean designs look like?

Yellow and blue? And both your expertise?

    That\'d be awsome!
