    Some sort of mallard-like creature?

Because we didn\'t put one on the bottom. That\'s a heavy weapons pod that we intend to spruce up a bit and fill full of doom.

How do they drive without thumbs? Our top duckologists have no idea.

Either way, expect the look of that thing to change as I sort out how to best use that space.

With the quantum turret retrotanglement problems at last resolved, we can get back to serious Fleetworking. We\'ve started overhauling the contest winners to bring them in line with the VFW aesthetic and things are going quite pleasingly. We\'ll have screenshots once they\'ve passed muster with their respective original creators.

We\'re currently putting it aside temporarily to concentrate on the conetest entrants and new Dirge, all of which are fairly small-scale projects. Once that is complete, we\'re giving the back end of the Anthem an overhaul to make it more...deathful, I suppose? We\'re giving it the ability to project dooms, is what we are getting at.

I\'m wondering what would happed if Python and Dirge fought against each other... They\'re similarily sized, also are MkII\'s of older ships.

How have you been dealing with the recent changes to docking sizes..? The designs I had been doing were all messed up and I was driven to start over from the ground up. aka I deleted all of my designs and am going to start a new line.

That\'s pretty much it. Schema mentioned that he did not intend to change the docking size, so I simply held of on doing anything relying on turrets until he fixed it. Which he did yesterday.

I still had trouble with the turret docking on my contest ship after that update (I found the second update actually caused me more trouble than the first), so you might need to look at that.

    Why it is a diggle.

I would be up for a one-on-one dogfight when I have the time, which is seriously limited at the moment. I am about a month away from being all \"fatherish\" which is surprisingly busy.

If we understand his communications correctly, contest winner drs93 is pleased with the cosmetic overhaul we gave his contest-winning ship! Here\'s a comparison to give you a feel for what\'s changed:

One of the things that pleased our panel of technophobic ship judges was the simple, robust, modular nature of the vessel\'s construction. Such a desgin is easily adaptable, with additional cargo modules being added or reconfigured for a variety of useful purposes. It\'s also cheaper to manufacture than a full warship, having only a single layer of Yellowtanium over a standard Blackite hull. All in all, this is a ship with a lot of potential and we hope we can bring even part of that to you, our beloved, valued customers.

Primary functional differences between the original submission and the intended final design include redundant power generators, a slight change in the ship\'s dimensions (the production model is one less meter wide and one additional meter taller than the original submission) and three of our new Quartet light turrets. They\'re already installed in the prototytpe and they look fantastic. We\'ll have additional pictures before the end of current news cycle in order to tantalize you.

Do you hear this? Your bad self is gonna be tantalized, yo.

my ships are one big gun tru the center going to the tip to the but making it super powerefull and it has a aray of other weponsobove it so the ship core is behind the wall of guns then i line the wepons with coils and power and tanks in a patern that gives me the most for what it is then i layer 2-hardend hull or 3-4ish normal hull on front for impackt and war damage sheelds then behind the core i put in my decretive meating room stoarage and air locks and behind that some shelds in the gaps of the decore and soem shelds and i trow some docking units on the sides and i have them so its a /____/ shape and i put more power and trusters in those to make a small but fast fighters the longer the more powerfull and i can use this to take ships 3x my sise down and still be in a fighting shape and i can take teams and frends in my docking bays if thay are small and thay can cover me when i fight

You\'re the 1,000th visitor to use barely legible language to talk about how you can make much better ships by making a big gun box!

I used that entry ship for my fleet also. If I recall it needed a minor boost to all the systems but had plenty of spare room to do so. I slapped something like 14 of your tripple shooters all over it and made it some kind of anti-fighter/escort/mobile defense platform thingy. Nifty little ship, your VFW edit is looking really good as well.

We promised some tantalization. We will deliver*.

First shot is the final shell detailing for the Devi-class Military Transport (TRM). You can see two of our new quartet turrets along the upper hull. The Devi-class will be the first to feature these upgraded weapons systems, which suits their role as an armed transport quite nicely. You can also see where we replaced the frontal hull opening with a Glowing Mystery Effluvia Jam Damage Orphanizer defensive system. For those that don\'t remember, the GMEJDO (pronounced \"Gimme Judo\") functions exactly like a shield system, but is more expensive and less reliable in exchange for needlessly funneling damage directly onto sleeping orphans.

This nice shot shows off the Devi-class\' broadside. Convoys of these craft can operate without escort in lower-risk areas, and with a reduced escort in more active sectors, freeing up valuable military vessels for more important tasks. Though they lack heavy weapons systems, multiple Devi\'s should be able to drive away small fighter wings or the occasional corvette all on their own.

The insides currently aren\'t done, but we plan on adding a hauler drone to its internal docking port and basic accomodations for a crew of two.

Thanks again to drs93 for the amazing design.z

drs93\'s default ship was pretty snazzy, but now that you\'ve gotten to it....

I might use this over my regular small ship that I use in one-blueprint servers, based purely on the looks.
