I have been away for awhile now, and just got around to looking at your new refite of the Dirge and while I really like the changes you have done to it. The three barrel turrets all popped off the ship as soon as I moved it.

I looked it over and it seems the recent changes to docking size requires you to either move the core backwards one space or remove one block from each barrel

I think just about any ship that was done pre-fubar docking \'fix\' needs refitted to make docks/turrets work. I\'ve all but stopped playing starmade over it as I lost interest now that 90% of my fleet needs redone, so many ships I now have to go spend hours fixing because the \'fix\' broke them lol. The Dirge only has a few turrets but once you get into the Ensemble and Nocturne that is time consuming. Not to mention the countless other ships out there with a hefty sum of turrets to be updated.

I agree, I was looking at having to rebuild not only my turrets, but the ships also to mount new ones and decided to just scrap them all and take a break. Found a few new and old games to play and am now back in the mood to build again. I have already got three hulls in the process of completion. I am using Ideas for hull shape from VFW ships like the Dirge, but I have decdided to shift away from Yellowtanium and move into using green, black and white. My New Frigate the Freyr is 75% done externally and should be a good start for a new line of ships. I am tossing around the idea of moounting a figurehead of a horse on the front of it.

Okay so I decided to refit the Ensemble and it was a nightmare, as soon as I load it in every single turret and Tremelo detach, this gives me a \"overlapping single block\" error which loops and completely locks my server until I can cut my way through all the doors on the ship and somehow manage to get in the core, after that I had to shake like a dog scattering the turrets and fighters everywhere!

I had to move the docking ports for the fighters over two meters and add two more enhancers on to them for the Tremelo to fit. This however required cutting the hull down to fit the new dimensions thus removing some of the shields. A better option would probably be to make a new Tremelo with the core in the rear of the cockpit, this would allow it to dock at the modified port and it should fit in the original size too preventing the hull cutting, but simply moving cores isn\'t simple...

The 5 larger turrets needed 4 more enhancers and all the small turrets needed a single enhancer, some of the hull also had to be modified to fit the new dimensions.

I decided to update my version of Vec\'s original Dirge design as it is probably my favorite ship in game. Aside from a repaint it has had a total refit of weapons and improved power, shields and thrust. Neither his original or my version has a crew friendly interior, I thought about making one as the top deck was basically empty but decided not to for now, instead the locker area was relocated under the stairs near the airlock and the deck was filled with power and shields to give this variant a little combat boost. The weapon systems were overhauled, dumbfire missles were swapped with 4 guided batteries each around 380 dmg and a dual AMC battery was installed at around 280 dmg each. More thrust was added to compensate for the extra mass so the ship is still as agile as before. I plan to work on the newer Dirge design as well as Vec\'s Nocturne and Ensemble ships soon.

I like the black and red look to the classic Dirge. I have my own Frigate done externally and while its not fully upgraded with shields and power, the look I wanted is finished overall. I could use some feed back on its look if your all interested. It was built baised on some of the dimensions of the Dirge but with my own twists added in.

That is a pretty nice twist, I\'m liking the colors and that small turret design. The only thing I don\'t care for is names on the hull but that\'s cosmetic. Are you planning to keep it in line with the Dirge or go all out and make it an all out combat type frigate?

I just finished refitting the Dirge Mk II and the Nocturne. Luckily they were easy to update, just a few enhancers here and some trimming there and poof, fully working awesomeness again. Last to do is the Ensemble, but after seeing Seven\'s picture there\'s no way I\'m even going to look at it until later lol. I may cheat and turn it into a drone carrier since the ships are docked externally anyways, I\'ve got one or two cut down tremelo knock offs that should fit without having to tinker.

you my want to consider using my refit version of the military transport, it is 1 block wider than the original which would most likely accomadate your micro shuttle

Pictures this time. Basically cosmetic changes to both ships, Nocturne is original inside and the Dirge has slight changes to the interior. Both ships had weapon systems refitted from stock. The VFW tripple shooters now have power to run shields (got tired of replacing turrets). I did not fit the new turrets to the Dirge yet in the pictures but it has them. I was dreading having to update ships with the new docking shenanagins but these VFW ships are going smoothly so far. Still to do is the Ensemble, two variants of the Devi, Forte and some of the contest ships I grabbed.

    - update - Fitted the Forte, cut the barrels down one block and added some power internally to the turrets so nothing fancy. Also fitted my version of drs93\'s contest ship as well as a Mk II version that is Vec\'s update to the original. I call it a Falchion class, alot of my ships are named from warhammer 40k. Basically drs93\'s version is a multirole corvette with 13ish point defense turrets for anti-fighter/escort/support roles etc. Vec\'s version (Falchion Mk II) is basically just a recolored transport.

I like the changes you made to the ships, The black/Red works well together. Do you replace the yellow blocks one at a time or just rebuild the whole ship in your colors. The Freyr I did is a total build from the ground up I didn\'t spawn a Dirge and recolor, instead I took measurements and made changes before I started building it. I also wanted something that may at first look kinda fantailish but was in fact different from VFWs standard fantail design.

My only problem which is not a problem is that I use blitzwings ship sizes and the Dirge to me is masive enough to be a cruiser. I plan on building a new line of ships following blitzwings settings, but maybe I will need to make some changes to them first.

I take off for four days to attend to some \"endaddenning issues\" and you guys work miracles! WOW!

I am inspired. I will have turret-fixed refits of all of my ships available this week unless The Wee Bairn shows up. The Breakfast ship will follow shortly afterwards.

    Varquynne: AMAZING

Bagelon, Foehammer, drs93, Sven? These are great shots! Thank you SO MUCH for posting them. I have to change my shirt because gratittude is literally leaking out of my body.

This is amazing. If it weren\'t for the tiny baby even now plotting its emergence into our physical realm, I\'d say this has inspired The Most Glee I Have Ever Gleed.

Thank you so much! I\'d love to see more, but I recognize how much work this was. May I post it for download on my OP?

Nah just recolored them, I liked the designs as they were and I\'m not great with making larger ships from scratch. Most of the ships I have in game are by other people and I tinker with them so fit my needs. I still have a few of the contest ships as well to refit.

Vec, you better be careful man. The kid is going to come and take over your company, you\'ll be working on the line with the rest of the slave labor haha.

If my child were to enslave me and take over the company, then she would have done me proud!

    That said!

For those of you who want a quick fix for the turret problems on my ships, feel free to replace the now-broken three-shooters with the Quartets off of the Devi-class transport. It\'s basically exactly the same thing I\'ll be doing, along with some additional touch-ups.
