The only aspect in that a cube would be more efficient is it would less hull for its mass, however due to the size of the ships present in the photos, the amount of hull present is so insignificant that it does matter or even affect its performance in battle.

A cube is more efficient because it has a much greater mass for its dimensions. However, non-borg cubes just f*cking suck for a number of reasons I won't enumerate. A ship like zoro made is also has a much more elegant and agressive look.
