[HUD] - Holo HUD 3D - UPD (06/10)

Welcome to HoloHUD 3D
Designed to be a replacement to the original HUD, HoloHUD intends to give more of a heads up view than the old HUD, while also being alot more futuristic

Currently, there is only one available colour : HoloBlue - but more colours will become available (such as the special beta orange)

HoloHUD is very easy to install, just make sure after every time the game updates to re-patch with the correct version of HoloHUD! Please note - As HoloHUD is a UI reskin, it will not work with other UI reskins!

HoloHUD is currently licensed under Creative Commons (CC) BY-NC-ND.

Just a little dev update Hopefully, will get this on the update in a few mins, after i fix the mysterious error.

Starlaunch
HoloHUD prior to 2.1​

To install:

[ ] Update Starlaunch & Starmade
[ ] Navigate to Starlaunch's default install directory (by default on windows: C:\starmade\starlaunch)
[ ] Add the HoloHUD zip file to Starlaunch's Versions folder
[ ] Run Starlaunch and click "update starmade"
[ ] Click the drop down menu and click "HoloHUD"
[ ] Update Starmade
[ ] Review and rate

This should just allow you to easily update and use Starmade + Starlaunch + HoloHUD

The concept idea is great, but I can tell that it's a WIP. No problem with that though :P

The first thing that popped into my mind when looking at it is that the blue could be lighter. It's a bit dark for what I think of as "hologram blue".

With the bars at the bottom, I'd suggest adding a bit of variety to the shape. At the moment they just seem a little flat or something.

It's a good job though, and keep going!

Thanks for the feedback guys. Current priority is to fix the status bar overlays (Making sure there not off centre >.>, or having obnoxious F's written over them )

WolfChild Do you mean the blues overall(or menus/game overlay)? I was going to update a few more of the menus so that they show up a similar blue to the Holo HUD banner up there ^

I have fixed a majorty of issues with the toolbar and updated the UI itself to have a more Holo Blue feel

Fonts Pack 1 -

In order to match the starmade font to the one used in the UI, have done a quick font pack replacing most of the standard UI fonts with Aeromatics. This makes the UI even prettier.

To install

Get a clean copy of Starmade
Extract the contents of the ZIP file into ~\starmade\data\font
Replace the files when prompted

Another small update, I have quickly replaced the HUD L/R sidewalls with something a little nicer for now.

Love the feel. It looks more like something real, like it's a heads-up display on someone's visor, not like someone welded bars to the sides of your screen. More immersive this way. Just looking at the screenshots, I do wonder if the brightness would be a bit uncomfortable or distracting when everything else is so much darker. (Space, ships, etc.... Possibly even just the icons in the inventory.) That's actually part of what contributes to its feel, though. Getting the right balance so it looks like a floating, glowing display yet doesn't hurt the eyes might require a fair amount of careful tweaking. Then again, I haven't actually seen it ingame so it's hard for me to judge.

Getting the colour balance right has been a real pain. But I agree in its current state it is - slightly - too blue. I keep tweaking little bits of it on my own PC, and end up realising how quickly out of date the screenshots get

Thoughts on having a coloured set? I mean, while the typical holo is blue, they don't have to be (Cough, ME2)
I was thinking this might be particularly fun for videos/twitch streams, with either side having a different coloured HUD.
- Currently thinking to start with just a red set, but I might expand more, if this catches on.
