Essentially, this would allow for factions to change the shop prices of the Trader's guild shops in controlled sectors. This would allow factions greater control over their local economies and let them make a profit on their wares instead of having to sell items at less than the base price to actually get customers. They could use this to balance out supply and demand issues and increase faction power over controlled systems. And if a player doesn't like the faction prices, they can always go to another sector. Possibility of having to pay credits each time you change the price ("Bribing" the trader's guild.) or similar balancing mechanic.
