I don't think I'm ever going to use this engine block, but I made it in the dev build with the new pipes, and it looks nice I guess, so here. :P

I have been working on an engineering vessel and have decided to use default thruster blocks (mostly). I don't see that often so though I'd give it a crack... I like the way they bloom now with thrusters being engaged.

Your thoughts?

That is one nice looking ship you got there DryBreeze. I'd go for it, personally I've never been a big fan of how the default engines looked, because the just turned into a grid on larger ships, but, if you can pull it off that might look pretty Kick-ass.

Anyways, I finished the carrier I was working on six months ago that I posted a picture of on this very thread, so, I thought I'd upload its now finished engines.




There ya go, Thanatos Light Carrier. Engines are probably one of the things I liked most about this ship.

A gunship I did up yesterday. I dunno, I still reckon exposed thrusters can be made to work... especially on smaller vessels.

You connect the core to a source of light, the same way that you do for weapon's color.

This is the ship, holding down W, after reaching 1/4 of its top speed




and this is what one of the 4 engines look like when the ship is coasting at 1/4 of its top speed. the white lights are actually beacons, they werent working in this picture, but they give it a very nice effect when they do work.

Here's a prototype WIP I'm working on. While it's still my signature quad nacelle design, I figured I'd try a slightly different approach for the exhaust/after burners.

It will be partical plated with Armor but as a mostly civilian ship not completly covert.
