You could probably preserve a slot by making the head a PD turret. That way it would automatically look at enemy missiles and shoot down with head vulcans.

Anyone know if we are supposed to send bug reports through the normal system for the dev build or just wait til it is released? Rotating modules get stuck if their rotation path is blocked by another entity. They just keep trying to carry out that last command. :/

Yeah I really hope that isn't a default since once it's stuck by god fixing it is a pain in the ass.

Don't use the built in bug report option, report on bugs.star-made.org

That sounds like a pretty cool idea, but I have a feeling it wouldn't look as cool as it sounds. How were you thinking of building them?

Another idea is fighter storage on a capital ship, so the docking of a larger ship can be done where the fighters were

Sounds like cataphract which refers to greek ancient cavalry and medieval byzantine cavalry.

Back to cool things on rails:
If rails share shields at 100% with the object directly docked to it,
and the docked core is still allowed to fire weapons,
and if we use the rail turning system that Bench displayed on his Lambda shuttle,
and we get the ability to undock with logic on rails,
it would then be possible to create an old fashion rotating mass firing artillery piece. Cannons Yay

Also usable as nice workaround if the devs decide to limit weapon firing angles on main ship weapons
