    Solution? I didn't realise there was any reason to classify this as a problem.

    If ex-docked entities colliding is the justification behind considering this a "problem", that's something that can be solved with it's own specific solution: this and this for example, among others.

    Your #6 option definitely should be split to allow votes for not changing power/shields/whatever and instead working on lag problems.

    e.g.
    #6, leave mechanics across docked entities as they are, but fix lag problems (this could be further split indefinitely as listed below.)
    1. Via optimization
    2. Via Ghost Rails
    3. Via changes in how disconnected entities interact
    4. etc.
    #7, leave rails & mechanics for power/shields/etc. across docked entities as they are


    This still doesn't really address the option saying ghost rails would be great, but sorta "meh" on changing other game mechanics, which is more or less my thought at the moment. Sidenote: I really should reread what my suggestion is... :cautious: I'm curious what I wrote.

    Developers don't want players to make docked reactors. Power softcap made to make big ships balanced. Because old players may build over 9999999 dps ships and newbies can't do anything to them. Now it's not fixed for players who know how to avoid it.

    Your #6 option definitely should be split to allow votes for not changing power/shields/whatever and instead working on lag problems.
    Type it as you want. But more short please. I will add it

    Lol this is just getting stupid now. In the other thread nobody addressed the actual balance issue. If we can agree what using is then maybe we can arrive at a quicker and easier solution. I think the people that are pushing only the lag issue are ignoring a clear gameplay issue.

    As others have stated in the docked power thread, using docked entities to bypass hardcoded ratios and numerical limits gives you incredible advantage at no cost tot he player. Its claimed to be an advance building technique when all you are doing is docking your ship together in parts instead of building it in parts. It is a small change to how you begin building a ship. You still build the systems the same way, just on different entities. Hook up some logic and you are good to go.

    I guess we'll wait and see what Schema does but my money is on some sort of nerf.
