The turret is nearly 3 times the mass of the ship and ShockWave turret combined, so yes.. It is much bigger :)

I found the cost per second of shot to be 142m e/sec, and it currently has a power capacity of about 777m (Going to up this a lot..) which allows it to shoot for about 5.5s and recharge fully in 35s.

Ahh okay, thanks for clearing that part up. Seeing as it has around 2-3 times more regen than energy needed per shot, and a fairly large power capacity.. It should be able to sustain fire for a small while.

Parking my 1M DPS (The stats shown are of this one) turret next to my 25.1M DPS turret... Well, it does less after the update, not sure how much but it should be enough to take down the shields of pretty much anything in a second. If I remember correctly, it has around 15m shields, 22m power...
