      Nope.

      Sustained Warp vs. Schine Engine

I was thinking of actually replacing the current jump drive with something that has its advantages but is more tasteful and corrects its flaws.

      AI Fleet Formations/Control

To me, it seems a little odd to be able to command ships to fly somewhere, but then not be able to command them to fight unless a player is there. All I can think is how immersion-breaking this would be. What I would like to see is the ability to control AIs in formation around a station or...

      Sustained Warp vs. Schine Engine

I seem to recall something similar being suggested, but I don't remember seeing some of the details and caveats I put into this thread. Anyway, sustained warp is a highly desired feature and I expect something close to this will be the final form of ship warp drives.

      Sustained Warp vs. Schine Engine

So, we have our jump drives and jump gates, but if you're going more than two or three jumps away and there's no gate, it gets to be a pain in the index finger, like having to mash the W key for an hour in the pre-FTL days, only worse. Like most systems, I highly doubt the first implementation...

An analysis of the relationship between planets, faction interactions and resource acquisition.

I had another idea about the whole planet value concern. What if instead of having random resources, planets had specific resources on them? I think this would drive factions to try to control one or more of each planet and trade with other factions if that is not possible. Natural resources are...

A Manifesto on Fuel, Balancing, and Various Play Styles

This is something along the lines of what I had in mind - and this combines the more passive "explore, grab, gone, explore, grab, gone" kind of collection for players needing low volumes of fuel with a potentially war-inducing scenario where planets are valuable fuel resources that require less...

A Manifesto on Fuel, Balancing, and Various Play Styles

You've just re-explained the importance of good configurability. Starmade has a complex community encompassing a number of different play styles that sometimes work together and sometimes don't. You're most probably correct. The only reason to kill off a weak faction on your border is if they...

Thoughts and suggestions after a play through

I have mixed feelings about that. It was more balanced for pure-combat ships with aesthetic exteriors and overall shapes, but far more punishing to my favorite variety of ship, which balances interior and exterior aesthetics with high combat performance. You couldn't do a lot of what you can now...

Thoughts and suggestions after a play through

This is because most ships are long and sleek. There's a lower pseudo-moment of inertia about the z axis. Bulkier, shorter ships will have a roll speed similar to their yaw and pitch.

      Planets cause major lag!

Your "segments drawn" (a setting similar to render distance) is too high. Reduce it until you get a tolerable frame rate.

A Manifesto on Fuel, Balancing, and Various Play Styles

You still need a way to limit the power output of such craft, not just their capacity. Otherwise a ship could be a fuel hog bug have ungodly power output while its fuel lasted.

      I rather like that prospect.

space engineers blocks (now with gattling guns :D)

Gunners, a pilot, the captain... There are advantages to having an extra person or two onboard already. I know because I have worked with another person (who functioned as my gunner while I handled helm and secondary weapons). The main advantage is the fun of working as a team, which is use...

A Manifesto on Fuel, Balancing, and Various Play Styles

You know, you could throw this in the suggestion forum... Anyway, what you've described here is an unlimited, inexhaustible power source (starlight is infinite in the game). In other words, get one blue star and you have it all. That works to some extent, but it's not as flexible as stuff like...

      Current Maths

I think the wiki actually contains *some* useful information about this stuff. I'd give it a try. (wiki link at the top of this site - the ones on google are bogus)

Look at the ship crew link in my signature. That is literally the number one thing needed for ship crews. By the way, what is this thread supposed to be about?

      Infinite Power is OP

Well put. This pretty much sums up the desire and need for survival content, which I 100% expect to see in Starmade in one form or another.

      Minecraft in Space?

Right. Minecraft with mods is all about exhausting content. At least in vanilla you focus on creativity. Starmade now... that's another story; another book; another universe. You can get all the resources in the world and still have stuff to do, places to go, people to lob nukes at for popping...
