I just did some tests and I'm happy to report that you can effectively create a planetary gravity work around by docking a ship to the planet and building the station off it.
ships docked to a planet do not count toward a plates gravity range. I docked a ship that had a 100+ block pillar...
most definitely. on more then one occasion i remember schema saying that he really likes first person shooters so its something that he's well aware of. I would kill to be able to design hand held weapons for astronaut combat
this has been brought up before and i believe that the devs have expressed interest in this but nothing has been heard since. most likely a low priority what with fauna, shipyards and music on the horizon
from my understanding the tutorial station is loaded into universe but is placed in a far away sector so players wouldn't normally run into it. personally I haven't done the revamped tutorial yet, been meaning to to see what its all about.
this was the first thing i tried to do when they first announced that missiles were gonna be destructible. sadly came to the same conclusion. Though after some time i realized that some major changes to the way damage pulses work in order for this to work.
As AtraUnam said. Damage is only...
haven't tested this but i believe once the Core runs out of block HP, The pilot is abruptly pulled out of it and you might need to reboot the ship in order to get back in.
you can already do this with by using the Close all Door Option under the Door System Tab in the Structure Menu. Its not as convenient as activating something from the hotbar but its there
its more of a blanket term. There might be more kinds of docking methods in the future (come on, plex lander). besides any new player can identify things in the "Docking" tab as blocks used in docking but they might get confused if it just says "Rails".
i also ran into some trouble with the rails themselves not switching via logic. all I had to do was de-select and re-select them to get them working again.
yeah, i was playing around with it and figured no griefer would have the patiences to cut up vast swaths of a ship. so its ok in that sense, however i would give it bonus damage to cores since at the rate it damages things it takes like a year and half to simply force another player out of core...
indeed. you still can't chase down a target with it and its low shield damage is still a problem. but this really makes up for it.
all that time spent developing my boom lance is about to pay off
i said only when the shields r down. but from my tests the pulse passes right through blocks and attacks systems directly. was able to overheat the core without destroying ay armor blocks
Just did some weapons testing. I can report that Damage Pulse can pass through armor and destroy system blocks .
without its shields I was able to instant kill an Isanth with just a 9/9 Damage pulse/Damage beam combo.
Who's useless now!? #DamagepulseOP
GRAPPLE BEAM (soon to have pulling ability)
Praise be to the great grey one!
also i hope the torch only works on cores or just one block at a time. The griefing potential for that thing has me concerned
very soon, sorry its been a very long time but i've just been bouncing around between projects as well as dealing with some stuff IRL. usually when i focus my mind of something i tend to nearly forget about everything else.
already got some turrets and at least 1 ship refits and the next...
