If Shema sets aside a development cycle or two in order to KO a bunch of bugs (definitely should not be longer than that), I think it should be after adding content like the Shipyard update, movable cores, and the fauna system which will fix peeves that a lot of people have with the current...
Personnel-permeable force field. I like it.
Nah.
That would complicate things, but might be possible for non-moving, rail-docked things. At least, I hope so. The standardized docking ports would lose half their purpose otherwise. I'll think of something and edit it into the OP sometime.
There's another idea. I actually like that for a default option. Some servers don't want planets to be mining targets at all though, so I still contend that disabling planet mining entirely should be an option.
It's ridiculous that you left it out. It's been such a long-requested feature, and cores are a continual peeve of shipwrights. You just don't hear a lot about it because the problem has been around so long. The HP update has begun the transition away from cores. It needs to be finished.
I like to build too, silly. :P I just prefer to build in a richer environment where there's more to do.
My intention was that air would only be used for filling up an area that was previously vacuum. I guess that wasn't clear enough. The only thing requiring regular resupply would be an...
Yeah, I completely understand (having done a little coding myself). I just wanted to emphasize that it really shouldn't be left this way. It's good because it enables rail contraptions that would otherwise be impossible, but it desperately needs improvement before the game's full release. With...
This would be cool, but the image would have to be very low resolution to prevent MAJOR lag spikes when looking at it. Even then servers might have to add rules about lag-bombing low-end computers by filling walls with the things.
These are just some random thoughts about the game. Perhaps this thread belongs in General Discussion, or perhaps it belongs here.
I really like how the HP update helps role-play ships (ships with pretty interiors) to avoid being at a disadvantage. They just end up being more armor-focused...
Scoop it up from a planet to get things running, and then forget about it.
Shops should have cheap or free air. (Free air actually makes sense if it's easy to get - it encourages people to shop there.) Players should spawn on planets anyway, IMO.
In both cases, that's only if air is a limited...
Nah. Planets are just too small due to lack of an efficient loading mechanic. (WHY do we load the ENTIRE flipping thing at once when no one is anywhere near the surface???) Planets should be made more efficient so that 30 radius moons would look good orbiting them. I think it would be cool to...
We do need a server option for disabling planet mining. It would save the trouble of banning people for it on servers where it's forbidden.
Eventually, I think mining planets with salvage beams should be completely phased out in favor of something more interesting, challenging, and rewarding...
In space, perhaps. It depends on the amount of thrust available. High-speed fly-by is better for small ships that can't accelerate quickly enough to dodge fire. They fly by at high speed (possibly in a curve) hoping that it will make them harder to hit.
This is terrible. It more than doubled the work to set up my multi-rail high-speed elevator. I had to float back and forth between the control unit and the rails more than 24 times and use C 24 times and V 24 times. If I could have slaved several wireless modules to a single transmitting...
