      As of loading the update all the red mobs have turned blue, so naturally my ships will no longer fire on any mobs. I've also had enemy mobs fireing on me while in range of the shop.

      a compass would make navigation better

      You should have an onscreen compass while navigating space. A good example in a bad game would be Star Voyager for the NES. It should be a simple feature.

      Ships will move sectors away without any reason. I brought my gunboat to a halt, got out to get a turret I found and by the time I was ready to dock it the Gunboat was a sector away.
