      Auburn's noise

Auburn Have you seen the updated tech video explaining how they minimised warping and corner artefacts? Might be applicable to Starmade.

Screenshots Not Functioning As They Should

Try turning off anti aliasing, if that fails, disable frame buffer.

Overheated ships - Turn to derelict if not rebooted

System blocks become scrap, hull only gives grey of whatever tier it is? I feel this would be a bit better of a balance, since scrap re-use is so inefficient.

      Saber's Thread

Yaaas, togglable LOD lights! On the note of LOD fixes; Might it be possible to get LOD model orientations fixed? Last i checked, if you set the collision of a LOD object to wedge and changed it's orientation, the model and physics bounds rotate on separate axis.

      <1 FPS - Quad Core I5 - nVidia GTX 260

I'd say it does used 890mb+ coincidentally. Lowering resolution will help reduce the memory footprint, but who wants to do that amirite? But for serious, I have a 1gb card a few years ago and it fell over when I enabled ultra shadows, 256 textures, and 4096 procedural backgrounds @ 1920 x 1080...

      <1 FPS - Quad Core I5 - nVidia GTX 260

FYI Shadows render the entire scene a second time from the view of the lightsource to create a depthmap to use as a shadow map - this pretty much doubles vram use theoretically. I'm unsure what framebuffer does exactly - but I imagine it's a screen space shader manager, or it pushes rendered...

      Starmade and its visual effects.

Starmade has some pretty nice shaders, and some not so nice shaders. The new texture pack is absolutely gorgeous, the normal, emissive and specular mapping are stunning. However, Starmade’s presentation is not consistent. There are areas that need drastic improvement. Shield effects...

      This is my Starmade.

Simply a way to streamline the texture mapping process. I know how to separate the 2 maps from the alpha channel, but having the game separate them into individual textures (and having them use the full 100% greyscale map each) would make mapping these elements much easier, instead of having to...

      <1 FPS - Quad Core I5 - nVidia GTX 260

framebuffer enables some more complicated/advanced shader effects - It's very likely your GPU simply doesn't support these (older shader model), and instead of crashing it's pegging the CPU trying to render them in software, though honestly I have no idea and it could just be computer gremlins.

      This is my Starmade.

There's actually 3 maps in there. Normal, specular and emissive. The specular and emissive both share the alpha channel, having a tool to split and reassemble these built in to the game would be helpful

      This is my Starmade.

As stated in the OP, these are my personal views about Starmade. In my opinion these are glaring issues. EDIT: Yes there are larger issues, such as game balance, and broken AI. but as a builder primarily, these aren't as important as the issues I've pointed out.

      This is my Starmade.

Well back when Break off worked - people attached their floaty-bits with open doors or area triggers, that worked fine for keeping bits on. It's always going to be off by default, I just feel it would add to the game if the option to enable it worked again.

      This is my Starmade.

Starmade; a place where long sticks generate power, weapons poke holes through solid blocks of steel, and detached objects can magically move alongside the object they fell off without any evident form of propulsion. Hello, I am Crusade. This document will provide an insight into my playstyle...

How to repair the HP of a ship? (COnsole commands or otherwise)

Sorry, I skimmed over the post lol, my bad. A while back you could remove the blocks and hit undo to replace them with in an undamaged state, maybe try this? I'm unsure if it'll still work, since it was/is a bug. You could also try mass replacing the blocks of the ship, say going from grey...

Turn bloom off, and turn framebuffer on. You should get thruster plumes and boring, flat 2d star sprites.
