This is purely from the view of someone that’s been playing Starmade for nearly 4 years as of writing this post. The information and thoughts written in this forum post are my own, and do not reflect the opinions and may not be in line with Schine, or other moderators and administrators.
Now...
CPU may have some issues with heavy segment loading, Starmade will happily use 4-6GB of that ram.
Graphics card should kick ass for SM.
Ram is a little overpriced, I'd do with a 4x4gb kit or 2x8gb from a cheaper manufacturer.
Seems like a decent build for Starmade, I say go for it :)
P.S: I'd...
Just a heads up, there is no one single "null pointer bug".
It can be caused by bad graphics calls, bad segments, bad regex, bad weapon links, bad logic links, malformed logic, and many other reasons. It's just feedback saying "this shit broke"
Tiered systems do not work in a game like Starmade. They work in games where you select a single premade weapon and strap it to your premade ship.
The top dogs will only ever use the high tier gear - preventing any other faction from advancing to the point where they can pose an effective...
It will show the community what is actually achievable in the short term of the game - Schine already has a long term roadmap, they already know what direction they want to take the game in. Issues that arise will be communicated with Schine - we have a very vocal community.
The community...
While I like the idea of the Council, and it is good in theory; I feel a major issue it had/has is the falloff of interest in the council members and the community. It seems like an unnecessary barrier between Schine and the community.
I understand Schine does not have the time, energy or...
I feel a necessary addition to this would be linking / assigning reactors to specific systems.
if you do not link, the reactor will attempt to power everything, however if a weapon array has it's own reactor - it shouldn't draw from the shipwide reactor.
Looks like the game cant reopen saved entities - where id the game located on your hard drive? I'ts best to have it directly under [DRIVELETTER]:/Starmade/ to allow maximum character count on saved entities.
Check that your starmade folder is no 'read only' too.
TL:DR;
Move starmade to root...
You totally should create a reflectivity map. Things like the BobbyAI and Ship Core circular components look amazing with nice reflections, but that effects carries over to blocks on the same sheet - Creating a custom reflectivity map to define areas with gloss and matte finish would be...
go to the old version, and incrementally update and enter the universe. There was an update migrating from 16x16x16 segments to 32x32x32 segents. You gotta update incrementally to get the update to correctly migrate your stuff i believe.
We already get efficiency boosts from smart reactor design, up to something ludicrous like 1200 e/sec per block if done right iirc.
This isn't necessarily a bad idea. But personally, I don't think it would fit into Starmade.
the 'attachment_#' folders are supposed to be inside a blueprint folder. As in, they are docked parts of a ship/station.
Make sure they're in the correct location!
Make sure you've moved the blueprints you're trying to spawn to the correct location too
