Steady framerate loss with each update.

Aye, the system boots with the card installed, but I only get a display on my monitor if I go through the motherboard's VGA output instead. I'll see if I can't try to get this thing down to 25W or so. Thanks for the suggestion - I had no idea it was even possible.

Steady framerate loss with each update.

I have a 750Ti lying around which won't work because I'm running a rack mount server. Apparently old Dell PowerEdge based systems don't have PCIe slots up to standard and are capped at 25W for any kind of card, though I'm not able to find anything about power caps in the manuals for any model...

Steady framerate loss with each update.

Shadows off. AA off. Normalmaps off. Framebuffer off. Vsync off. Singleplayer and multiplayer, problem is the same in each. I have an old world that I update with each patch, but I have been using a new world with the NPC Factions this most recent patch. server.cfg is all default except...

Steady framerate loss with each update.

Not an option. What I'm trying to figure out is why my performance has gotten so weak over the past several months, despite very few updates that had anything to do with rendering whatsoever. It's at the point where some Intel chips from several years ago are about to start outperforming me.

Steady framerate loss with each update.

Basic relevant hardware rundown: Intel Xeon L5420 2.5GHz Intel Xeon L5420 2.5GHz 16gb DDR2 RAM 500gb SSD Nvidia GT 520 For the past several updates, running back to even before the Thruster Plume and frame buffer update, I've been steadily losing framerate with each patch - including during...

personal preference what combos do you use for your heavy ships?

Piercing is a great all-rounder. Punch and piercing together is even better against armor tanks, though, since missiles do some really bizarre damage to armor HP at the moment. Probably a bug, though - I keep getting 500k damage punch missiles doing around 5mil armor HP damage for some reason...

personal preference what combos do you use for your heavy ships?

With missiles, no missile loses shield damage. Punch missiles get an extra +50% damage bonus to Armor HP and a +5 radius. Piercing missiles ignore 50% of armor values and get a +5 radius. Explosive just gets +10 radius with no damage bonuses of any sort. Piercing missiles are significantly...

personal preference what combos do you use for your heavy ships?

Explosive on missile/cannon is literally worthless unless the entire system is enormous and has only one output (which means it can be easily prevented from firing by a guy with a machinegun). Use Piercing as your tertiary. It has no drawbacks, but actually increases damage, unlike Explosive.

      What choice do I got?

Alright, here're my usual fight thoughts when I'm using the Magnolia (major armor tank). It's a lot. Does the enemy ship have problematic shielding? Is it worth the shot delay of getting my different cannons on target to switch from Punch MGs to Partial Ion MGs? Do they have a lot of regen but...

      Kill Docked Power Entirely

I refer you to this update: StarMade v0.199.214 Auxiliary Power, Better Graphics, Better Textures, and Bugfixes Docked power has been removed and replaced with a non-laggy replacement. It's been gone for months.

      (A) simple solution to the "problem" of docked hull...

Uh... Not the case. Except, maybe, when dealing with beams. Cannon projectiles continue flying and simply do some mathy shenanigans to the projectile itself when it impacts a block. I regularly shoot through peoples' turrets to hit the main ship, blow through docked hulls with high alpha punch...

      Implemented Block Consolidation

Yeah there is. Numeric block IDs are how blocks are loaded by blueprints. There's a reason why, in the Blocks screen when checking what a blueprint uses, slabs are considered separate from normal blocks (though they take from the regular full cube stockpile).

New Damage Mechanics: 'Disabled' and 'Destroyed' Blocks, and AstroTech tweaks

I want something like this too. I've been saying exactly this for years. Can't remember the response I got from other people though. I'll upvote every time this idea comes up. \o/

Planned Astronaut Emergency Transportation: The RCS pack.

Might as well get rid of block based building and planets, then, since Spengies has those too.

You're also ignoring the second benefit, here: Replacing the functionality of the standalone Core block. People regularly have to spawn cores just to get from one side of their homebase to the other, or get into a ship, which inevitably leads to you having 20+ cores just lying around the base...

What happens if you don't have a base? Or a rescue ship? Technically this is already possible thanks to Fleet AI.

      General weapon balance suggestion

Not sure what kinds of turrets you're making, but I've only ever had basic hulled turrets get shot off in seconds. Most of my capital turrets survive just as long as the main ship does, if not longer, simply because I bother putting a little bit of armor on them.

Appeal to the Council: A Noisy Niche

Quests, a storyline, NPC factions, etc. are all things I've been pushing for, Raisinbat. I think a lot of people have been pushing more for singleplayer content, because singleplayer content is part of why Minecraft got to be so popular in the first place. Minecraft's singleplayer experience is...

Planned Astronaut Emergency Transportation: The RCS pack.

Respawn puts you at a shop stick at 2 2 2, generally without any sorts of extra resources to get moving again, and no access to materials with which to produce a new ship from nothing. Pretty useless, and I touched on it already. Plus, having a bunch of cores lying around your homebase doesn't...

Planned Astronaut Emergency Transportation: The RCS pack.

I want astronauts to be given an innate high max-speed, very low TWR travel method. Why? Because if you get killed or get dumped into empty space with no credits or items, with 2km+ sectors, the only way you're going to be able to get going again at all is to have a lucky asteroid encounter or...
