The XYZ grids have been gone for years. Used to be multiplicative which prompted interesting and bizarre ship shapes. But it was switched to being merely additive after multiplicative power caused some neato exploits that hurt the game for newbies. Every single "modern" ship design made by large...
All of the missiles struck roughly the same places on a very small cube with armor that's only thick enough to eat a 15k module missile/pulse/piercing from a 50k mass missile boat.
Going with an "all or nothing" armor scheme, 6 meters qualifies as the "nothing". An armor tank of equal block...
Doesn't mean much if you don't show us how large the missile groups are - and judging by the crater sizes, the amount of firepower you unleashed against that brick is far, far, far more than any ship of equal size to that brick should ever be fighting.
This is nothing more than a showcase of...
The ship being kaboomed is basically a shield capacity tanked ship spamming self sufficient turrets for offense, and it's being slapped around with missile spam. The missiles used in that would be completely blocked by 5 to 7 meters of advanced armor (outside of netcode tomfoolery which can...
Even with zero Armor HP, having a thick enough layer of armor where you expect your ship to be hit from (usually the nose on more maneuverable ships) is a huge deal. Some of the worst nightmares of ships I've fought against have basically been flying bricks with over 20 meters of advanced armor...
Aye, I remember when a faction member transferred in from a different hostile faction on one of the servers Thryn used to play on, and while they remembered to reset their newbie mining ship's faction block, they forgot to do it for their turrets and I got spawn camped by one of our own ship's...
Planets to me are a blank slate. In the past I used them for base building and such. They're great for "terrestrial" type builds - offices, landmarks, etc. that would look out-of-place just floating in space. Can't build the Reichstag just freely floating and expect it to look right, for...
That was a pretty decent entry riddle. Good job, Schema, you made me actually think a few times. Hype hype hype!
No, people, the password is not Schema's SMD account number or page name in any form.
B&S 2 was decided by ship speed.
B&S 3 was decided by intentionally causing server lag. In the last fight, Raisinbat wasn't even facing the direction on his computer we saw him facing on-server
You've never tried to fight a 30k mass ship in a 100k mass ship, have you. Trust me, it goes very badly for the 100k. At least, if the 30k pilot isn't stupid enough to stand completely still in front of the 100k's guns.
tbh that's because the actual gun systems in those turrets are predominantly under the deck like on actual real ships
if Starmade could implement a method by which we could put the gun systems in our turret bases, then we'd be all set for that
