Puritans... it's the default colour of the placeholder beams, waiting on weapons update before the guns are filled so I hadn't got around to changing them yet. EDIT: Fixed it just for you.

Thought these might be worth discussing?

3.7% vs 32.3% stabilization buffer with a size 200 reactor and 8x 3^3 stabilizers all else being equal, (except for Y dimension which is 3 taller of course.) EDIT: Well it leads to a certain shape being considerably more powerful then other shapes... an issue the reactor dimensions patch...

Thought these might be worth discussing?

They were all built yesterday on v2.00.335.... I was building with aprox 1:1 stabilizer:reactor ratio, taking reactor block count divided by 8 then inverse cube and get the nearest cuboid to those dimensions, rounding up to odd. Place your reactor, turn your y-axis angle to 45', set all your...

Edit: oops. Butter fingers hit enter. Anyways; pictures say it all really, check out the power stats on these builds.

List of All Ship Reactors, and Their Functions

An efficient reactor will be one that has 9, 19, 199, 1999, 19999 etc reactor blocks. This is size of a reactor when it has the maximum possible Reactor:Chamber ratio of 4:1. IE: Build your reactors to size 1, 10, 19, 28, 37, 46, 55 etc, to minimize the combined mass of your power system and...

V2.(2?) Reactor Size / Chamber Size Optimization

Anyone see a pattern here? Looks like an efficiency sweet spot with reactor/chamber size with reactors at sizes of 199, 1999, 19999 etc.

V2.(2?) Reactor Size / Chamber Size Optimization

~~ Yup, my understanding of integrity has been flawed it appears.. Thanks for setting me straight. ~~ EDIT: I'd like to correct this. I had a misunderstanding of my misunderstanding... ;p confusing and double guessing myself... a higher integrity means more damage taken before failure.Integrity...

V2.(2?) Reactor Size / Chamber Size Optimization

So obvious I'm facepalming I hadn't considered such a thing. Go for the highest % wasted and trim it down a level... for the other high % values I wonder if taking a whole slice of the cube turning it to a rectangle to maintain integrity, what the results would be like?... more testing...

V2.(2?) Reactor Size / Chamber Size Optimization

That's the most efficient size only if you disregard the integrity mechanic and are looking at only e/sec output compared to chamber blocks. My definition of efficiency includes integrity as well as e/sec. If integrity is considered then the most efficient shape is a cube. Excess chamber...

V2.(2?) Reactor Size / Chamber Size Optimization

You are correct, I shouldn't have copied the numbers from the games interface. Damn. I new that because of the 10^3 reactor but hadn't clicked I should adjust the Max/count... revised and the final numbers are pretty much unchanged.

      What is Wrong with Starmade

Thanks. First I've heard of SBY 2202. Will check it out. (In the interests of staying OT and not getting deleted... I hear that's a thing now...) Yeah 15 seconds per chamber means changing reactors mid fight is just not an option IMHO... for your flag ship if you get caught with the wrong...

V2.(2?) Reactor Size / Chamber Size Optimization

The far right column is what matters, that's the percentage of chamber blocks that are excess for the given reactor size. So if you want an 'efficient' reactor to chamber ratio you go for one that doesn't have excess blocks. ie You pick one of the coloured lines. The lower the number in the...

V2.(2?) Reactor Size / Chamber Size Optimization

For all the Meta Masters... All cubed reactors. Left hand column gives base cube size. Yellow is odd sized reactors <= 10% excess chamber blocks. Orange is even sized reactors <= 10% excess chamber blocks. Red is the most efficient.
