...Just lets you access the core remotely.
Sit in front of quarter slabs and decorative consoles. This makes decorative interiors more flexible.
Chairs. Just a simple, blocky seat block that you can sit in. It doesn't need to be fancy at this point in development.
Ship design game mode - empty...
More brainstorm fodder, here:
Would the sector used to instance planets in this suggestion benefit from actually being a cube of 9 or even 25 sectors, with the planet itself in the middle, rather than merely 1 sector?
Reasons: for servers sticking to smaller sector dimensions (and probably...
...a new way to have PTS combat. Specifically, I'm thinking about Star Wars Ep 5 ESB, where "our heroes" (tm) used a command center (command chairs!) to pick-and-choose "nearby" targets in space and shoot at them.
Example Starmade mechanic:
Whatever weapon you link to the targeting computer is...
...of say 3x3x3 for arguements sake), otherwise you'd be looking at forced design again (just like under 2.0).
Edit: actually, if we were given chairs (as we weere promised i think), then it could work nicely - the chair becomes the centre of the crew space. On a smaller ship you could cram...

Actually the chair plan was to make chairs a remote access to the core that you can have multiple of and place anywhere, yes the astronaut is vulnerable but its not an instant coreing of the ship.
Expect massive exploits of one shoting the astronaut. If you truly have to pilot the ship as an astronaut. At least in my borg cube the dude sits in the middle of the ship.
Mk VI Torpedo
This is still a minor issue. Apart from the usual suspects nobody uses this. On servers that have admin...
theyre going to make ship cores turn into ship chairs so the astronaut is always vulnerable without well though out protection during ship design and put an end to spaghetti once and for all
This implements the core functionalities and consequences of a crew system, and leaves room for adding crew with little modification to ships. To add crew:
Reduce the base bonus of crew chambers
Add a bonus for crew working at workstations within the rooms.
Add living space requirements...
...-Even more if, additional to that empty space, they needed to contain a certain amount of motherboards. And circuits. And lights. And chairs. As if they were meant to be occupied. As if instead of "mystery chambers" they were a functional and decorative, meaningful part of the ship meant to...
Discussing the deck chairs on the Titanic... sitting here bitching over the finer points of whether a long dong is better then a long dong that's slightly shorter... I only got a few pages in before I gave up because frankly, I am far more concerned that I'm being forced by game mechanics, into...
I think right now I want decoratives for:
Kitchen:
Freezer
Chairs
Oven
Microwaves
Washbasin
Bathroom
Washbasin
Toilet (can be a chair)
Shower
Cockpit
Chairs (again again)
Not too important right now
Agree
They are not different from lights for me right now. Used to be more bright...
I'd suggest just wedges, otherwise the list gets a bit long and I dont want to use the wheel anymore than I have to when building, though I'd like to know how other people feel about this.
Maybe 1 table model would be nice, but we dont need a table for every size and color, wedges and stuff...
...Make it a properly square tube like the pipes. Really, just add a light bar variant for each color of light.
Add more beacon colors.
Add chairs. We've wanted this for a while. I know command chairs are planned, but seriously, these models don't have to be functional.
In the same vein as...
...be an asthetic representation. The ship should have a block (or just a menue) that stores "crewmen" points, then the Dave spawners and command chairs can pull points from the store and display a Dave.
This would make transfering crew between ships simpler as "crewmen points" could be...
To clarify, I am an advocate for all or nothing. If everything were piped together, that could be okay, but mixed systems is unnecessarily complex.
I think I am also put off by the fact the most chambers have nothing to do with power. If my reactor had to be piped into chambers that...
...need some getting used to, but here too I think it makes sense, if you decouple the control aspect from them. I could imagine if and when chairs and in extension, multiple control points beside the core, come out, you wouldn't have x weapon computers on your bridge, but several control...
...the console, their POV is automatically switched to camera linked to that console. Multiple master cameras? The player can chose which one will be his POV. Lots of opportunities for original GUI designs.
It would be like "Command Chairs Version 1.0", and could lead to greater things in the...
