Thoughts about the recent trailers and equalty between shipbuilders.

By... the... gods... that... trailer... is... AMAZING. (And I watched it with sound off) Just thought I'd drop by to say that.

Yes, but I don't think that's even a reasonable reason why not when it comes to something like credits...

With the Steam release, the HP system, and control chairs on the horizon...

The AI and mob additions will probably come in stages (humanoid NPCs and missions first; procedural species and enemy mobs later) and all I really need to see are basic quests for now. New shop/station addition should come soon, and I don't think it takes much coding work that hasn't already...

Thoughts about the recent trailers and equalty between shipbuilders.

Ya see... The thing with MF is, it's a vicious cycle. They're popular, so they get attention, so the devs notice them and tend to go to them for anything building-related that they need, so they get more attention, so they become more popular, and so on. People like that are why monopolies are...

With the Steam release, the HP system, and control chairs on the horizon...

Control chairs: Not confirmed to be coming soon, but are: 1) the next logical step now that we can sit on things and combat and player features in general are being refined. 2) Confirmed to be added at some point. Transparency bug fixes: Schema said nothing about fixing them. I'm suggesting...

So? The Credits variable is just a number, one per player, that you add to or subtract from by arbitrary amounts occasionally... Other than that, it just kind of... sits there looking pretty. I don't think it'll be much of a performance hit.

Brainstorm This Perfect turning system - no half-assed solution

Agreed; as much as it would be a waste to do it for every single suggestion I wouldn't mind an official verdict on some of the more important and/or popular ones that haven't already been discussed... This being one of them.

      Increasing max money value

Personally, I vote for using a BigInteger. It's not the sort of thing that's constantly changing or being used so I don't really see there being any reason why we shouldn't go, well, BIG.

      Minecraft in Space?

I don't see what's so wrong with the comparison between the two games... Sure, they're different, but both are (supposed to be) games where you survive in a world of blocks. Only difference is that in SM you customize a ship and fly it in a three-dimensional but somewhat monotonous world, and in...

      Minecraft in Space?

Minecraft is by no means a failure. It may be playing it safe, but it started as a pioneer; the beginning of a genre really. Besides, regardless of dev decisions, the raw numbers dictate that it's a success. It isn't a subscription game, so all that matters is how many people bought it. And...

With the Steam release, the HP system, and control chairs on the horizon...

I see what you did there. The transparency bugs cause solar glare to show through... glaring bugs... ehe... hehehe... heh.

With the Steam release, the HP system, and control chairs on the horizon...

...Wouldn't it be a good time to pull that "delayed" tag off of the transparency bugs and start trying to fix how stuff behind transparent objects renders? At least partially? Because as much as I get how hard it may be to write good rendering code that also performs reasonably well, I don't...

      Wormhole Bug

They do indeed have a gravity well that continues to draw you in after exiting. However, unless they're bugged again, they give you a certain amount of time to fly out before you get thrown again.

StarMade 0.1836 New Tutorial and loads of fixes

Because honestly, right now it looks like the best solution is just to flat-out revert the system. It made sense before; doesn't make as much immediately-evident sense now (Though I suppose that technically it's a bit more logical) and the "fix" also requires refitting, which, while not the end...

In this case, when Schema 'resolved' it, he added a message saying that he's shelving it. Why? I don't f**ing know. It had better be a good reason.

StarMade 0.1836 New Tutorial and loads of fixes

Replace tool doesn't have a filter based on linked systems. And it's not uncommon to have identical support systems for different weapons next to one another. People have explained this before.

StarMade 0.1836 New Tutorial and loads of fixes

Yes, 'they' actually do. You don't nerf or buff things because you want to (that's silly and just going to piss people off), you do so to make the game more intuitive, more balanced, et cetera. Or, alternatively... just don't release the game to the public until you like what you see, problem...

      Simple and simplifly

Yeah, but it feels like right now, those things have to be taken to the extreme to have even one system be satisfying (Ignoring turrets, which, if built huge, can give you a LOT of essentially free attack power) That, and the fact that there's nothing useful that small ships can do that big...

StarMade 0.1836 New Tutorial and loads of fixes

Not to something that makes LESS sense. It's because we've been forced to refit so many times. If the devs had gone ahead and just rebalanced everything in one fell swoop, that would be fine, but people are extremely tired of trying to build decent ships, spending time fitting systems into...

StarMade 0.1836 New Tutorial and loads of fixes

People that like the change have asked, "Why should 300:300:300 be better than 900:0:0?" and for me, the answer is simple: The first one is ENHANCED by EFFECT MODULES and SLAVE SYSTEMS. The second one's just a bigger gun. There's no reason why that SHOULDN'T be better - it's essentially more...
