      Yeah... or maybe by a defensive effect of something, but it would have to be too slow and too power-intensive to use effectively in combat.

      I'm quite aware of that, Mered, however the idea of reducing the TOP ATTAINABLE SPEED for larger ships is the issue here, not reducing acceleration, which does need to be done (I'd kind of like something of an S-curve for game reasons - Steepest at around battleship size, allowing 'normal' ships...

      Invalid argument; no air resistance in space. Regardless, it just looks ridiculous, space or not, for massive dreadnoughts and titans to be regularly and easily matching the speed of small fighters and drones in combat scenarios.

      Well, it might've 'worked' in the sense of balancing out armor vs. weapons.. Regardless, though, I don't actually support something like this; a new armor mechanic has to be implemented (aside from just an HP counter which doesn't actually help this issue) to fix this in a satisfactory way IMO.

      ...Do you not want to be able to extend docking bridges to and from your ship? Do you not want to be able to dock to the side of a station and walk between the two without having to have a complicated, special setup to do so? And do you not want a docking system that doesn't require fiddling...

      By the Elements... This is the most logical approach to the docking revamp that I've seen. Doesn't break existing designs, but it solves (almost) all our problems with the current docking system.

      If you can't buy or build a lock for your door (Both of which are quite achievable in SM) then you'll just have to deal with things coming through your door. Which, in a non-combat situation, isn't a bad thing if they need to travel to an area nearby...

      Yes, but far nonetheless. Most engagements I see happen within 1000 meters... But IDK, I don't do a whole ton of combat.

      Fights from 2km away with jammers are boring. If that's what you want combat to be balanced to, then have fun going against nearly everyone else's preferences... O_o
