      Fair enough, but if I bring my corvette to your mech fight I think you're screwed. It's bringing a knife-shaped gun (See my faction topic; the Kalen-Miris looks like a stabbing weapon and has things like pulse beams) to a fistfight. :p

      A bit hard when, due to linear regen scaling and turrets, it can become nigh-impossible to actually do any meaninngful damage to the larger ship. So? You can already do this. If it was such an advantage power-wise people would already be using tons of them... Or is it that nobody actually...

      They do, but even if/when they are, they are still ranged weapons with an AoE on hit. A lot easier to use than having to try and grapple someone with pull beams and then hit them with a rather untrustworthy pulse weapon. EDIT: Whoa, dupe post.

      This goes a bit beyond immersion, though. If you can't see heavy weaponry being fired at you through glass, that's a playability issue.

      The trick with this is that unlike MMO quests which are basically required for progression, SM missions would ideally be just be another thing to do in the game, probably about as profitable as manufacturing or killing pirates.

      Fixing this will take an entire update cycle (3 weeks?) of rewriting the entire rendering pipeline, and then probably another two or three weeks of bugfixing. A fix for this is possible, but would probably be a bad way to allocate time at the moment. I really want it fixed too, though... :|
