I built one a week ago but scrapped the idea because they are so ugly without hull and missiles are currently useless without enough AMCs to take out shields.
At first I just wanted to set my trade guild and pirates to use different ships but then I got to thinking that's still way to rigid for a game as flexible as Starmade. There are limitless options when it comes to the ships that we build and pilot but few options when it comes to the AI that...
We do need a separation between trade guild ships and pirate ships, although a more in customizable AI would be much better. I also don\'t see much point in adding lots of ships to the default cataloged as server admins already have full control over the types of ships that the AI use.
I\'ll probably have the Woodpecker available for download tonight. I like to take my time going over the ships before I upload them to save myself a re-upload if I find anything wrong with it. I\'m going away for Labor Day though so it\'ll be a few days.

I\'ve been having this problem for a few updates now and I really need to upgrade my stations gunports and add more docking bays as they are all full of ships already.
Turrets are a must on larger ships but I would like directional thrust so we can make larger ships turn faster. Another addition that would be nice is able to aim weapons and cockpits out the sides/tops/backs of ships so you are not limited to only looking and fighting in one direction.
Turrets and probably ships docked on your ship show up as black in the nav menu, this is not a bug, unless you mean they still show up black when not piloting your ship.
