I feel like a 3 stage system is needed.
Underfire, No regen.
Break in fire, combat regen
Longer break in fire, full regen
The strength of the shields and the damage being taken should determine how long a ship is in the "underfire" stage So a large strike would take your regen off line much...
Honestly, I think we need to re-approach this problem. We need to stop worrying about titan this and titan that. Now I am going to say something REALLY controversial here...
Wait for it...
A single fighter should be able to kill anything (Titan, Breadnaught, ETC).
Now let me explain. If...
I've had this argument before, they are balancing for an ideal not practicality or real world applications. There is next to downside to spamming the hell out of shields blocks so you will ALWAYS have more shields than guns so balancing shields with a 1:1 weapons to shield ideal is misguided...
Okay so I've already built a few contraptions in starmade and want share them via tutorials. I've already created one for a basic door but I figured I should dive into basics first before I cover more in depth circuits.
So far I have built expandable animated doors, t-flipflop, automatic...
Repost (Some of the old post is admittedly missing)
Alright I am more or less scrapping that naming convention as it is a little too complex and the names are far too long for the catalog. I will be using a modified version of how the new Isanth-Zeros are named.
First Off the size is...
You are on fire Schema, keep up the good work
I have to say I really excited for when we get a stable state, I just took a walking tour on my Hammer Class Light Carrier just making mental notes on all the changes I want to make, of course I am hesitant to make any major changes as the game...
In the end I'll be able to live with whatever the final result is, my light carrier has decent thrust right now because I never refit it to the .14 standard. I'll still be refitting it because I bet I can get more efficiency out of a mass of thrusters over the checkerboard pattern it has now.
You'll just have to tune your missiles to fire just under the max power of a small ship without tanks. One of Raibens ship a day challenge a little while ago was to build a bomber, I already started to tweak that ship with more power tanks to be able to fire the on board missiles.
I've stated many times that I am fully aware my ships will need to be refit that doesn't take away from having valid concerns about balance though and certain ship styles no longer even being valid. I also understand what Alpha means, I have been in this community for a very long time and am in...
We really shouldn't be trying to split the community into "custom" groups before a proper balance has even been reached. I imagine the majority of players will want to build with vanilla settings or simply not have the knowledge to change it and the majority of servers will want to run vanilla...
I want to refit this ship, *click remove all shields power and thrusters* that might work... A block filter option in advance build mode would be great, switch to remove mode, and remove the specific blocks from a set area.
You can't quote part of my message out of context like that. People will build a huge single reactor because it is super efficient per block. I was specifically saying it is a bad idea because the ability to cripple a ship in a single shot. You may be disagreeing with me because you never...
I disliked the change at first and thought it was OP, but realized it wasn't. You still had to power those massive trust engines and if you didn't build them with redundancy a single round could cripple your high efficiency engines. Especially now with peirce and punch, imagine you have your...
But in all seriousness that looks like a bug.
Overdrive hulk missile is not even possible on a "small" fighter, now maybe on what some people try to pass off as "fighters" but you'll need power tanks to fire that badboy off.
Yeah I miss smart design engines, now it's just a spam system.
