      Rejected Cubic Planets

I don't find the transitions on a 90-degree angle any worse or more disorienting than what we have now with our strange dodecahedron edge angles. However, I really don't like the silly things that people can pull with cubes, like digging hangars into the side of a planet... wat? Ship hangars on...

      Recognized GalaxyNet (Interstellar internet)

Sometimes I wish that TS, Mumble, and co. didn't exist... :P Also yes, the idea is that the public network would replace magic global chat.

      Recognized GalaxyNet (Interstellar internet)

Not sure if StarMade is a large enough game for this yet, but once it supports 200+ people on one server this would be a very interesting thing to implement. At the very least, I do support making global chat work through something like this, but IDK about ships not being able to use it. They...

Oh, gods... more home2tuck... help ii... cant re2ii2t... BLUHHH! Anyway, I'm surprised to see the carrier features already in the dev build... Was expecting mining commands and whatnot instead.

They're a ton faster, and hopefully once Fog of War is implemented they'll be a great way to sneak away...

      Kupu's thread

Cloud effects would be good, but Schema would have to go in and add that, not Kupu; he would just make the textures :P

It's more fun. Who likes sitting there holding a button and charging something, then 2 seconds of a really awesome effect, followed by sitting there holding a button again?

Actually three other devs, nvm. We have Auburn now but I'm fairly certain he's busy :p

I mean if he happens to have time to do something extra sometime down the line. I see and understand that he's got his hands full with the fleet system and other things currently. Furthermore, as someone said, there are two other code developers on the team... right?

How do you guys move large amounts of cargo?

To be quite honest, that would be really cool. Rock could become an inefficient but strong armor... It would weigh down ships but would provide a ton of defense to stations and very slow things.

You charge the thing up, and it keeps flying at fairly high speed, and doesn't load the sectors it passes through, until either you reach your waypoint, you right click the computer again, you run out of power, or you hit a sector with a jump inhibitor in it.

Just tell Schema to make missiles and beams pass a size variable to their shaders. It can't be that complicated... can it? :P

Personally, I found the travel mechanic more annoying than the travel itself. A warp drive would fix that bit; even if it was a bit sluggish at least it would not require holding down a mouse button all day.

Anyone up for murdering the dev build when it comes out?

They have placeholders, but for the record they're supposed to be invisible anyway. The Shoot Off Rail is intended to accelerate ships to high speed and then undock them... Currently, it does this, but the ships stop when they undock, a bug which has already been reported. The Pick Up Rail and...
