With a system like this, homebases could get some serious nerfs... They could go from completely invincible, to just getting large armor and shield buffs...
A system where paste templates could be put into a folder for each AI faction and used as random buildings would be nice. And the best part is that it mostly uses existing features... Remember, you can already grab any paste templates you saved and delete them, move them between installs, upload...
What if we went and reduced the cloak power requirements per block by, say, 10%? That way cloakships could still not be very strong, but at least they might be able to look a little more like ships and less like blobs of power and motherboard.
The universe simulation/unloaded AI ship tracking feature is probably mostly for things like roaming AI fleets and sending things from bases to attack enemies without the in-between space being filled. Can it technically be used for sending AI ships out to mine? Sure! Will that specific feature...
You don't teleport 4/6km away inside a star, what? I've never seen that happen... The one thing that does happen is that when you move into the sun sector the inside-a-sun effect appears without any warning and it looks like you teleported inside a star. Schema has to fix that, or better yet...
Additionally if they added heat shielding, hopefully it'd be balanced so your big ship would have to sacrifice quite a bit of "kick ass" to survive suns anyway. No point in adding heat shields if they're just another thing to tack on to a ship...
So? You could just as easily jumped in on top of a Pirate Station Alpha and gotten blasted to death... Space is dangerous; jumping blindly is even more dangerous.
Is this some kind of joke? Yes, turrets are smaller and easier to shoot off... And they also turn really fast and have no turnrate penalty for being huge and don't even have to be aimed. The balance is fine; if anything needs fixing it's AI but that's an issue for later on.
As the game stands now, it's probably wiser to fly the biggest thing you can as long as it isn't crappy or not large enough to be competitive, regardless of whether or not you can afford a replacement at the time... Unlike in EvE or some other game the likelihood of losing a ship is in almost...
Losing is expensive; winning isn't... If fleets of large ships are better than a single even larger ship, that'd be probably the optimal thing to use... until you run into somebody's massive drone swarm :|
