      There is no pathfinding, there is no fleet formation maintaining if you order them to go somewhere. They just go in a straight line and maybe navigate around stars or something. I reported both of these issues; hopefully they will actually be dealt with in a timely manner.

      ⚓ T1173 Fleets of ships with different thrust values will not maintain formation. Fleets trying to stay together is apparently coming next update, or something like that. :D As for the roles stuff, that'd probably be good, but I propose the ability to simply order a fleet to escort or follow...

      Generally when I think of a force field I think of something that stops ANYTHING passing through... A plasma wall or something to keep in oxygen would be a little different.

      It's not that they take up a physical space, it's that they take up a data space, otherwise they wouldn't be blocks. You can't have two block data units in space allocated for a single one.

      I find that the current system is just a lot simpler. However, an order to escort a ship or fleet would basically accomplish what you're wishing for*. *Except for AI using astrotech beams, but that is completely and totally pointless anyway and having 'repair nanites' that restore blocks...

      I suggested that, but the update had taken too long already and developing, testing, and debugging an entire new feature (and IIRC fixing some other things that were preventing that) would have been a bad idea. No idea if this might be coming soon or not, though.
