      I'd say a missile & cannon hybrid like you're using is pretty good at multirole, especially when using missile/beam since you also get long range capabilities. That's what I use on my titan's medium turrets and in live PvP combat testing it always performed very well!

      It's been like this for a while actually, now that I think about it. Mostly to make them viable VS missiles before the new explosion system. You should look in-game actually, it might have changed again without me noticing (because lolbalance changelogs)

      Nah it was changed along with beams when the HP update dropped afaik. Just don't forget that power cost was proportionally increased, so it's 100 e/sec per block now.

      Don't forget that shield recharchers chug a lot of power, so the offset of requiring more thrusters for armor isn't as bad as you might expect. Might even take less power then shields, actually.
