I would like the shield to have hardened sections. Maybe you could do that with ion-effect-affected docked entities. If more gaps between relate to more efficient hardened sections (with any idea/suggestion) you have another balancing factor which is fun to play around with.

      In Developement Sounds

Yeah, drowned in many threads opened simultanously. I cutted out the reason and wanted to rewrite, pressed submit instead of preview and got drunk in memories about a similar thread ;)

      In Developement Sounds

Most peoples don't see the difficulty in making good sounds: Music has at least 5 dimensions: More loud, more silent – magnitude is not always linear but uses a complex formula involving number of sounds, etc. Higher frequency and lower – magnitude is logarithmic: The previous/next octave is...

Is slow travel a contributing factor to the decline of PvP?

I already would be happy if the shipyard could use a factory to slice blocks or reprogram computers using different components, etc. Making categories more important and items less.

BTW: did you quote me twice? ;) Nice, have a cookie! It is a good strategy but only nice until you realize that there is no way to track all stolen asteroids down! Perhaps asteroids that leave their home sector can have a decay that kicks in after some time.

As long as you make sure offence+defence scales as fast as cost/100'000 it is not a problem. About the 8%,10%,12% - make sure to keep the 3m percentage roughly equal to the %advantage you lose with a bigger ship's lower evasion and turn speed, etc. Perhaps it's fine, but that depends how much...

      Recognized Planet re-work idea

      1. Large ships shouldn't crash-land on planets. Perhaps make an ORBIT. Large ships aren't dragged into the planet. Instead they land and have to escape the planet's orbit. Perhaps a config setting. –– My opinion, as always ;) –– 2. Do you know how many planet-threads this forum has already...

I have thought about that myself, but it will be more complex than that. 1. Sectors are cubic, but not your faction territory – – just imagine gates between blue stars, competition sectors or a market place and your territory! 2. You have to encounter a patrol. Will the patrol be omnipresent …...

Devs wanted not too many sliders I have heard somewhere here in the forums. As much as I agree with you, but if implemented, peoples want a up/down difference and then others say : we have 5, why not just enable the 6th direction too? It might also be a way to balance ships that want backward...

You cannot legally use a single heavy Battleship. But you can use enough lighter Warships to beat one? Maybe count player-assets together … this allows more freedom with building too (there is not so much restriction in whether you can bring 4 or 5 with you than it is in limiting size of each...

But if towed-away ones lock the origin sector, you can lock respawning by stealing 1 asteroid from all enemy faction territory sectors. Perhaps they jump back if they don't have been interacted with, but however it now works – there is some background quirk you have to think about all the time...

When I add tags to my post, I often think WTF because some people use singular "rail" if "rails" already exists - or vice versa. These tags contain each other but are not the same code-wise. Even lower-case and upper-case is different. There is also no suggestion of similar tags. To get an...

      (200+150) + (100% /2) = 350 +50% = 525 (500+400) + (100% /5) = 900 + 20% = 1080 (800+1000) + (100% /9) = 1800 + 11% = 1998 I don't know how you get these numbers, but not with the math you told us. Also you have 3 opening and 2 closing brackets in the header-line of that paragraph. Marked them...

It is not useless. It relates to real life circuit design (Tough RL has a bit more factors such as magnetic influences on other circuit parts). After the advent of AIs, basic programming and circuit knowledge might become as important as reading if you don't want to be a slave of a...

Does it count to clear a sector by pulling all asteroids out? Can you dock asteroids to your ship? (why not? they are moveable entities after all.) Tow them into your shipyard. No exploit, balanced by giving enough resources to be worth the effort. No single blocks left. If they become part of...

But how are you supposed to get a missile license from an outpost inside factioned territory if you have installed missiles before visiting this territory? Can you use 1 ship to purchase a license for another? Can you transfer licenses? Are they bound to a player or ship? If bound to a ship...

Seconded. But that would probably fall under the NDA – nobody speaks about it as it could reveal a secret of a feature which is important to keep players addicted to StarMade.
