      Items info on inventory

I agree, and think it should be a button, so that there could be a lot of detail. Hover-over-style floating windows would be restricted in the amount of information that they could show, but could still be useful. It just seems redundant if there's an info button available.

      Custom loading screen

Maybe it could be HTML page instead. Multiple images, multiple resolution support.

Can't Launch StarMade: SQLException: error in script file line

It sounds like the universe database got corrupted. In the second launcher (the narrow one titled StarMade Connection Setup), among the menu options, click on "Tools", and then click on "Reset All Worlds" to reset the database.

Yes, we all want visual customization as well.

      Jay's Engineering Journal

As part of the radiator fins on the Clarke, I had implemented some red light blocks surrounded by black crystal armor. I was hoping the crystal armor would provide a darker filter for the red light, dimming it slightly. It's still rather bright, but there's only a single layer of black crystal...

      Jay's Engineering Journal

Work on the Clarke continues at an acceptable pace. I had designed the Clarke to take better advantage of advanced-build-mode features, and trained myself to take advantage of them. The rear half of the Clarke is 90% complete. What remains: Each individual camera (internal CCTV security cameras)...

Want to make a cinematic, need plot ideas.

A ship captain is given coordinates to an unmined blue asteroid detected by an amateur astronomer. The captain gets the coordinates wrong and starts mining an owned asteroid. The owner shows up and is angered by the trespass..... The ending could go lots of ways. Make alternate storylines...

      Cameras and flight control

I think the flight controls remain locked to the "forward" point of view, so you'll need to adjust for non-forward viewpoints. Downward viewpoint: Pitch (up and down) should remain the same. Roll and Yaw should be switched. (Use Left/Right to rotate, use rotate to turn) Additionally, Yaw will...

[Small updates] Roleplay ship interior classification (human race): An attempt

On my "Theatrical" ship, my red alert did not dim the regular white lights. If the logic clocks worked correctly, the "chasing" (flashing in a sequential order to create the feel of an animation, like Knight Rider's KITT sensor) red lights would lead an astronaut down to the internal flightdeck...

      Database Compression

Running as a RAMdisk sounds like a great way to overcome the delay from compressing and decompressing data on-the-fly. I agree that this should be an option for server admins.

      Different Types Of Ship Cores

That's 8 blocks in place of one. That's a huge loss in a ship small enough to notice the half-block differential in center-of-rotation. I'd recommend using other high-priority blocks like build, faction, and permission blocks to fill in the space for a 2x2x2 "core" for a even-sym ship. Again...

      linking logic to Undeathintors

Sounds like a great mod idea to me. Point capture.... In Space!

Should the game have rpg skill elements?

Understandable. There is no real single player mode. Singleplayer is simply a local server using your own server settings. However, as a mod, it can be easily applied to just your local server. I'm just thinking it will be popular in a multiplayer environment as well. Some of the most popular...

WAR WAR WAR - Battle of the 1000

I think this is just exactly the sort of big-space-battle thing that Schema wanted to build and see from the start. Good stuff!

Should the game have rpg skill elements?

I'm concerned about RPG elements being technology based. Specific concern: A mod would inevitably become popular that would allow absolutely anything tech-based to be constructed, then the game becomes pay-to-win.

      Quick Turret Questions

Now this is interesting and sounds like it is right in line with what the devs seem to be designing. This way, you can -either- dedicate those shield blocks to the mother ship -or- to the turret, but not both. Very interesting idea.

      Blueprints Shouldn't Require Every Block

OK, I hadn't thought of buying a full blueprint and building up a minimal ship. No breaking point, no problem.

      procedurally generated horror mobs

I'm seeing two different "styles" of horror in this thread. The desire to see something grotesque, and the gameplay challenge of aggressive mobs. The point is that standard, default-game mobs would not be grotesque, but still be challenging and deadly. Grotesque monster parts should be in an...

      Blueprints Shouldn't Require Every Block

So... What's the suggested breakpoint? 96% minimum block fill? That would mean for every 100 blocks in the blueprint, up to 4 could go missing. That sounds like a lot to me, but I'm hoping to stir up a discussion.

Should the game have rpg skill elements?

I agree for astronaut-specific skills/abilities. (E.g. A player experienced in personal mining should be able to mine a little faster. A player who buys and sells a lot should get a better price. A player who repairs a lot should repair faster.)
