How much stuff can you stuff in your Stuffie until your Stuffie is stuffed?

I was less concerned about ships and more concerned with stations if we started needed 100x100x100 storage cubes just to put our recycles in.

      Hopes for a Better Tomorrow

Less now that Bench clarified that one of the other guys saying they were looking at cargo blocks being a few thousand in size was wrong. It was going to require planet sized storage stations at that rate!

Seriously. That or we're going to have to have some better way to process asteroids to super-condense the junk rock into a more storable form.

How much stuff can you stuff in your Stuffie until your Stuffie is stuffed?

Whew, well please keep in mind that I think most established players are going to need total realistic cargo to be measured in the millions, tens of millions, or hundreds of millions. Hell, I'm likely going to need half a billion just to store what I've got now. And I'm a one man faction.

No you don't understand. Right now I can likely surpass 500 million blocks total storage requirements. Has nothing to do with building smaller from now on, or making bigger freighters. It has everything to do with planetary sized cargo stations. And I know I'm not alone in that, several...

How much stuff can you stuff in your Stuffie until your Stuffie is stuffed?

Okay, so we have some feedback on how Cargo is going to work. Major point of concern for me at the moment is that they seem to be thinking small for how much stuff you can fit into each cargo block. Like really, really small. Like hundreds or thousands of items per block. I don't know about...

Oh dear God no, please not that low. You have to realize on my server station I have over 200 million metallic mesh alone sitting in storage. I have raw mats like Mattise crystal in storage in the 10-20 million range each. Even 50k per block is going to make it a nightmare to try and convert...

      A turret with two bases

Yeah, this is fairly common to have a three part turret. I use it a lot in my recessed turrets so I only have to cut a standard square hole and drop them in. Note: If you use a three part system, make sure you use a rail speed controller to "turn off" the bottom level rail. Even if its only...

      Thoughts on Gigantism

Yup, thats why I'm building those logic lock rail doors. :) Keep the filthy little freeloaders to themselves! Dug up the old thread I had over on the logics board with the basics on how to make the logic lock, if you're interested...

      Hopes for a Better Tomorrow

Now guys, relax. This kind of thing is why devs don't like to say "We'll have more for you on X date" and instead just say "Soon", because they know people get their undies in a knot if they don't hit that date exactly, and usually by like 6 am on that date. If he hasn't posted, then its...

Vending machine cube to activate permission block

Money is worthless, really. I can generally have enough to start my station same day I start on a server if I start early enough. Being able to set blocks or resources as currency would be better. Keep your creds, gimme Rammet for your debts!

      Asteroid respawn...

Yup. Question for those that know, are the asteroids that respawn the same as they started out as, are they random, or is it what they were as of the last server save like the old days? Aka, if you find a field of Larries, is it worth bookmarking it when asteroid respawn is on because they'll...

Vending machine cube to activate permission block

I think what he wants is more like a pay toilet, only applied to things like docking or transporters. So he could do something like rent out docking space on his faction base for the invincibility to people, or make them pay credits to use the transporter to get around faster instead of...

      Hopes for a Better Tomorrow

Well, the cargo itself is already block based, so small miners are going to have to get bigger regardless. Your miner is going to have to have cargo storage space, its going to have to have more thrusters since cargo has mass and a filled bay will make your ship heavier... the days of being...

      Hopes for a Better Tomorrow

Yup, thats exactly the kind of thing I'd like to know, as I've already started retrofitting old stuff and building new stuff for it. Things like "You need to use this new block for floors, and cargo can stack X blocks high" kind of thing so we can plan out the new bays will be very helpful.

      Logic Pulse Receiving Transporter Computer/Pad

Fairly simple request, have a transporter computer or even the pads send a logic pulse when it receives a beam-in. So we can hook a gravity unit into it to counteract the fact that transporting disables the gravity.

      Thoughts on Gigantism

Oh I totally agree. The current faction setup is woefully inadequate at the moment. I've been a one man faction pretty much my entire time in Starmade for that very reason. However, I am designing my current new faction home around that problem. With the advent of rail doors, I can link...

      Thoughts on Gigantism

Well that would also be very stupid. A titan can absolutely destroy a battlefield, but its not invincible. If you can field a titan, you should be fielding it as the backbone of a fleet. Its the Death Star to the fleet of Star Destroyers and TIE Fighters in Return of the Jedi, and the same...

      Hopes for a Better Tomorrow

Well I was told by a friend of mine that they transported a warhead, and I had no reason to doubt him, and was too busy eating a planet for the mats for my new station to do it myself... I'm going to have to try it for myself when I get home. Maybe he dropped a warhead block on the transporter...
