How well do your drones work against a ship with large swarm missile arrays?

Recognized Turrets system with Pictures - [ Poll]

Not true in general. Let's look at how fragmentation grenades work: The initial explosion breaks up the outer casing and accelerates the fragments. These fragments then do the main damage, not the explosion's blast wave. In vaccum these fragments aren't slowed down by friction. Many bomb and...

      Mass-based turning system

The amount of calculations should actually be manageable, as explained here. This doesn't make sense at all, with more blocks along the Z-axis a ship should turn slower about the X- and Y-axis, not faster.

      Mass-based turning system

If I understand correctly now, such an antenna would increase the turn rate about the Z-axis, since width and height become relatively smaller as the length increases without adding significant mass. This system favours antennas extremely.

Brainstorm This Perfect turning system - no half-assed solution

After reading this suggestion from @Planr and thinking about it my conclusion was: "Better than the current system, but still not good enough. Why not going pro and use the inertia tensor (Trägheitstensor)?" The Advantages: - It's real world physics and will thus result in a realistic feeling...

      Mass-based turning system

If I understand correctly your system still discourages antennas which add to a ship's dimension and favours bulky shapes. Also, I think it's better to limit angular acceleration instead of angular velocity.

But more than Notch got for Mojang.

StarMade 0.171 Salvage to Storage and more

StarMade now reaches level of awesomeness that makes me fear Schema will sell Schine to Micro$oft for 4 billion dollars one day.

      No more disagree button?

Then I don't understand why some people had such problems with disagrees.

      Improve AI and turret range

Before the weapons update the weapon ranges were customizable, so it was even worse back then. Aside from that I don't think it makes sense to put much work into AI improvements as long as the weapon system isn't fully balanced.

Malacodor: Ratings: 94/0 Really? There was a (red?) number >0 after the slash until a few days ago.

      No more disagree button?

Simple solution: Make 'disagree' a neutral rating. Otherwise I suggest to use the (i) for "idiotic". ;)

      Missiles: An exercise in frustration

I agree that the current locking system is a pain in a random body part. Modern fighters can simultaneously lock on over a dozen targets and attack as many of them as they have missiles. So compared to reality the missile mechanics in-game is quite medieval. Fighters could be protected by...

      Turrets and Shield Drain/Supply Beams?

1: Is it possible for turrets to drain shield power from the ship they are attached to? 1a: If so, can this be done on demand, i. e. only when the turret's shields aren't full? 2: Is it possible for ships to support the shields of attached turrets via supply beam? 2a: If so, can this be done on...

      Thrust Mechanics Explained

No, it doesn't. Lower max speed means longer travel time, which means one has to pay more for crew wages, food, life support and so on. Fighters could even escape a faster titan. Simply make a U-turn and laugh about the titan's low turn rate. By the time the titan has turned and is ready for...

      Thrust Mechanics Explained

This is a very important point. Perhaps changing thrust distribution should only be possible in shipyards. Why should bigger ships have lower speed caps than smaller ones in space? This makes no sense. It should be possible to look through jump gates, just like in Portal.

Don't punish decoration, give deco blocks zero mass and HP

This makes sense from a realistic point of view, but this way slopes will be weak points on ships.

Don't punish decoration, give deco blocks zero mass and HP

Do you want to adapt the HP in the same way? If no, then people are encouraged to build hulls using corners and tetras only. If yes, then slopes are disadvantaged and players are encouraged to avoid them.

Don't punish decoration, give deco blocks zero mass and HP

Some good points were brought up. We could have normal decorative blocks with 0 HP/Armor and - where it makes sense - armored versions which have the properties of hull blocks.

Don't punish decoration, give deco blocks zero mass and HP

If a decorative block has the HP and armor of a hull block it should have the same mass, of course. My suggestion is about blocks that are too weak to be used as hull, hence the wording "purely decorative".
