1: Is it possible for turrets to drain shield power from the ship they are attached to?
1a: If so, can this be done on demand, i. e. only when the turret's shields aren't full?

2: Is it possible for ships to support the shields of attached turrets via supply beam?
2a: If so, can this be done on demand, i. e. only when the turret's shields aren't full?

As far as I know, there is no way to detect the amount of shields/power/whatever on a ship, and certainly not cross ship. You can insert the numbers of shields or power into a display block, however, so good signs on that front.

Shields are not transferred to turrets, they need their own. They only take power. It may be possible to use the shield supply beam but I have no idea if it will hit or go through a turret attached to the same ship. It probably won't work honestly.

Do supply beams only supply what fits into storage/capacity or waste supply?
