Connect a cannon computer to your salvage computer. If the former has as much cannon blocks connected to it as the latter has salvage blocks, then your cooldown will be sufficiently reduced, and you won't have to wait without switching...
Standard/advanced brown armor requires Hital, Threns, and Zercaner ore. You need these anyway if you use cannons, missiles and damage beams, for example.
I love it when people discuss things they have now clue about. Brown hull does NOT require more resources. Instead of 3 identical paints they require 3 different ones, and instead of 6 identical capsules/ingots they require 2 of 3 different types.
I say it doesn't really matter how much CPU power docking calculations require, simply limit calculations per time, and there won't be any lag. The only downside would be docking not being instant anymore, but that's unrealistic anyway.
Your mixing up to totally different things - speed and acceleration. I think most people agree that bigger ships should have a worse acceleration or require more thrusters per mass for the same acceleration. But there's no realistic reason why big ships can't fly as fast as small ones, they just...
We do have inertia, but we also have friction (which can be switched off via config file iirc). If you accidentally bump into another ship of yours it would drift away forever, and it's hard to enter moving ships. Thus friction can save you a lot of trouble.
We have:
- Diminishing returns for thrust
- Limited energy production bonus (modular reactors were nerfed into oblivion)
- Crappy turn rates for big ships
- Crafting based economy
- Drone swarms being able to easily destroy single big ships with the same mass

Sorry, but that's illogical. We already have an infinite "out" which is block destruction (and despawning of items). Without an infinite "in" we'll end up with completely mined out galaxies.
It was mentioned that it will be possible to respawn asteroids with faction points. But how is that not...
