I was using logic to control the power beam firings, a very simple clock mechanism. The beams were indeed firing for 2.5 seconds.
The calculation is 200 million power divided by 766 seconds divided by 2890 power supply modules equals 90 power per module transferred per second.
I did a pretty rigorous test the other day to measure the output of power supply beams. I did not calculate exactly how much they were drawing, but I had 2890 power supply modules drawing 'roughly' 900,000 power and they transferred ~90 power per second only. It took 2890 of them precisely 766...
Swarm missiles for myself as well. I'm not as sophisticated as you though and don't do anything fancy to get pirate attention. I'll let a salvo of swarms off on a station then wait for defenders. I can usually get a few waves of defenders before there is nothing left of the station.
I've spent way too much time recently building the first ship I've ever built that contains docked power reactors. Recently I took it out for a spin to do some weapon tests and found that without any passive effects activated, the ship was apparently 'drawing' 7-800,000 power! It's as if the...
I was greatly disappointed a while back when I included passive defensive effects in a series of large turrets I built, and then afterwards was informed that the AI would not activate them. Is there any way to do so now, perhaps using a Wireless Logic Module to force their activation manually?
Well now... That certainly does not work if one tries it on a Power Supply Computer linked to a cannon computer. Clearly though it must work for some systems, else how would Sven have pulled off his utterly marvelous drone cruiser?
Having different tertiary effects on the missiles is a personal choice, not really germaine in my opinion to the question of salvo size and timing. I do agree big time however with varying the salvo such that the missile strikes are staggered.
I have just such a missile system defending my...
It occurs to me that there is probably some way of using Astrotech Module repair beams to regenerate armor blocks 'while' they are taking fire. At the moment, as far as I know, there is no way to get a turret to autofire an Astrotech Module's repair beam at a damaged block. (Wouldn't 'that' be...
The people working on fauna would be people skilled in graphics, modeling, maybe AI coding. The people working on shipyards would be much more into the guts of the coding, a very different skill set. It is not do one or the other. There are different people working on different things, and...
If one of their fighters had maybe a 50% chance of dropping a single negative mass block, and their biggest ships at most a handful... (Using the logic that they tend to lose cohesion if unattached to a ship core or attached to one that has overheated.) A player, even a faction, would have to go...
I expect that it would be highly wasteful of people's varying skill sets for everyone to focus on just a single thing. Moreover I expect that a huge part of the motivation of many who work on Starmade is the freedom to work on the parts of the game for which they have the most interest. I could...
I would very much like something like this, something to give us a goal to work towards rather than just building yet another ship for no reason but to play with blocks. Having really tough opponents (far away) that offer worthwhile rewards that cannot be gained other than by taking them on...
I bought the game. For some reason I don't have a badge. I am tempted to buy the game again just to get the badge.
When I first bought the game, I was extremely impressed with just how functional and good the game was for an alpha being created by such a small team. There were indeed problems...
I'd like to differentiate between lagging people's graphics cards when in close proximity, and lagging the server even when no one is around. I seriously doubt that animated graphics will slow down someone else on the other side of the galaxy. Absolutely if there are a lot of animated blocks it...
I have what I believe is probably the best layout for power lines for a compact structure. It is scalable to whatever size one prefers. Sadly for me, this was a fair amount of work and it seems like I've badly placed my ship core, as I would like to make this a bit bigger still. (I certainly...
